Too much background noise but an okay story.

The sound effects were distracting. They were too loud and at times made it difficult to hear the actors.

Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Excellent presentation of a classic

All of the performances were very well done. The actors did a nice job voicing the characters, and overall it was refreshing to hear the original story in its entirety. I think our generation is so used to the watered down version of the characters from movies that we don't take the time to appreciate the original version. This was very pleasant, start to finish.

Engaging story

Another great story by Peter Clines! Another triumphant narration by Ray Porter! Mr. Porter does a great job voicing all of the characters and giving each one their own distinct characteristics. He makes listening a pleasure. Me. Clines writes a truly entertaining tale. It never slows down. I enjoyed every second of it!

Engrossing. Exhilarating. Clever.
What did you like best about this story?
It was a great story about determination and survival under extreme circumstances and the characters were portrayed as real people. Their thoughts and emotions seemed realistic and honest.
Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?
I didn't have one favorite. The narrator did an outstanding job voicing the emotions of all of the characters.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I was drawn in within the first 5 minutes and didn't want to put it down.

Absolutely not
How did the narrator detract from the book?
He had no apparent enthusiasm for the book. Very little feeling put into the characters and they pretty much all sounded the same.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was disappointed by this book to the point that I couldn't finish listening to it. I thought this book had potential but as I got into it I got the impression that it seemed to be written by a teenager for a teenager.
