Historia
Ty Seidule grew up revering Robert E. Lee. From his southern childhood to his service in the US Army, every part of his life reinforced the Lost Cause myth: that Lee was the greatest man who ever lived, and that the Confederates were underdogs who lost the Civil War with honor. Now, as a retired brigadier general and Professor Emeritus of History at West Point, his view has radically changed. From a soldier, a scholar, and a southerner, Ty Seidule believes that American history demands a reckoning.

Truly Outstanding and Much Needed
Revisado: 05-28-21
As someone who grew up with the Lost Cause mythology ever present and later in life recognize it as false... this book provided a very enjoyable explanation of how it came to be and the truth.

Historia
Thomas Cahill tells the story of how Europe evolved from the classical age of Rome to the medieval era. Without Ireland, the transition could not have taken place. Not only did Irish monks and scribes maintain the very record of Western civilization, they brought their uniquely Irish world-view to the task. As Cahill delightfully illustrates, so much of the liveliness we associate with medieval culture has its roots in Ireland. When the seeds of culture were replanted on the European continent, it was from Ireland that they were germinated.

Painfull Listen

I couldn't get through more than a few chapters. I know its a classic but i found so slow moving and trying to be poetic whereas i prefer a more informative style.

Very Enjoyable and Thought Provoking

Puts current politics into a clear and comical perspective. Made me laugh out loud and also contemplate all the craziness witnesses in 2016
