ISLAND ADVENTURE AND ROMANCE
Revisado: 12-12-18
TLP is very well put together. The story takes its time without ever feeling boring. In a way, you know where some things are going, but you really want the characters to go that way! And when it finally did get there, I CHEERED. Out loud. What a great start to the series!

Historia
It's the 22nd century. Humanity has taken its first steps into the galaxy, and we've found ourselves in a vast playground of alien races and cultures. As the newest players on the universal stage, though, we're at the bottom of the food chain. Welcome back to the Four Horsemen universe, where only a willingness to fight and die for money separates humans from the majority of the other races. While some of the stories deal with mercenaries, others introduce listeners to the other guilds, organizations, and races that make up the landscape of the Four Horsemen universe.

Skeptical to Believer
Revisado: 06-16-18
Always a little wary of short story collections. The first two stories pulled me in and I became a believer in this book. The performance was awesome, both production quality and voices. The narrator seemed to have a well of unfathomable voices and accents to draw from.
Two stories, Leverage and Boss, were intertwined a bit and that was really cool. Loved Messenger by Nick Cole, different but had great character voice. Ah heck I liked all the stories. Like another reviewer said, I’ll go back and listen to several more. Some didn’t deal directly with Mecha, but we’re good set ups for future stories—or that’s what it seemed like. In a way, this is a book of “trailers” for the authors’ full length books. Really good showing all around. Will recommend.

Now, going into her senior year in a new town, love is the last thing Shelby is looking for, but she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Kale, the son of an Alpha. As her heart slowly reopens to the possibility of happiness, threats mount, and her very presence brings mortal danger to Kale and his entire pack. Is her destiny to be a savior? Or a harbinger of death, as the Summer Omega prophecies foretell?

A Hit All Around!
Revisado: 02-06-18
I can't wait for more of this story! The romance is natural and the writing is on the high end, something the paranormal genre often lacks! I'm so excited to learn more about Shelby and the Copeland pack. So much mystery and great plotting. The potential for this series is seriously up there. If you like werewolves, romance, a real sense of danger and conflict with intelligent but flawed characters, AWAKENING deserves your attention.

Yes. This is Masterful.
Revisado: 01-31-17
I'm fairly new to the dying lands chronicle. I recently discovered altar of influence, remnants and shadows (short story), circle of reign, and red grove (short story). I consumed them all in a matter of 2 weeks. then I saw this "new" version of circle of reign and discovered there' also a new version of altar of influence. Both are expansions from the originals, but man was I really looking forward to song of night. I have to admit being a little peeved because the author says these new versions are "must reads" before going to the next book (whenever it comes out...come on cooper). Grudgingly, I ponied up a credit for this new version of Circle.
worth it? YES. HECK YES.
Cooper has arrived. I loved the first editions, but here, he is a master. I read about how the rewrite and expansion came to be on the author's blog. It is just masterful. Every bit as good as most of Sanderson's writing, better than Eddings and Mccaffrey.
This book belongs on the shelf with the other greats.

A chip off the "awesome block"
Revisado: 06-25-16
As a guy, I was worried about too much focus of romance. I had the same fear of the first book, but it turned out fine in both installments. The good news is that there's lots of action and plotting and brooding and revenge and self-hate. That's the good news? Yeah, actually. Finn does an awesome job of weaving a lot of elements together and making them work. Some really great lines, too! There's one twist where, before I knew it was a twist, almost made me throw my phone across the room. seriously, I was going to send the author a bill in anger! But all was well in the end. Really had me! Narration by Michaelson continues to be well above average. I think he could read the Book of Numbers and make it entertaining.

Good mix!
Revisado: 06-25-16
Good mix of on and off world action. I suspect the author has previous military experience. Felt very genuine but not overly technical. I couldn't help feeling very in tune with the characters. Not sure if it was the writing or the outstanding narration. Probably a bit of both. Really hope the next book in the series is on par with this. Military sci-fi fans will not be disappointed. Coming of age fans will not be disappointed. Great escape from the daily grind.

Um, yes, more please
Revisado: 08-27-15
This book could have been 50% longer. Spoiler: big cliffhanger at the end! I have it on good authority that book 2 (obsidian threads) is close to being done.
Kaden and Aren make a great team, even thought their time together in this first book is limited. Their different paths are in unique and intriguing. I freakin loved the dwaros/dwarf creatures. Their song that and magic is very interesting and pretty fresh! Storytelling was great and enhanced by the narrator. What a voice this one has. Wow. Anyway, cheers! On to the next!

Revisado: 07-22-15
Through love's trials wraps us nicely, but it says this is book 1...so...
Honestly, I'm not sure I would have stuck with this after the beginning if it weren't for the narrator. After what I thought was a predictable start, the story really took off and I'm glad I stuck with it. You should too! Give it a shot. I didn't regret it, neither will you! 5 stars.

Freakin...AWEsome
Revisado: 07-22-15
I started with this one for the series, then remnants and shadows, the circle of reign, then red grove. I'm glad I did it that way, as I think that's the way the author set it up timeline-wise.
This. Book. Rocked.
It wasted no time. Character development happened from the first page. THE FIRST LINE got me. The first paragraph had me imagining the world already. The first chapter just...it was AWEsome. The whole series so far.
Pick this up. The narration is spot on. The story and battles are epic. Wait 'til the wind up scene. It was like a movie flashing back and forth between 3 or 4 different fronts, all going at the same time. Could say the same for circle of reign. Thannuel and Antious are a great, unlikely, team. Their banter and the depth of story made this work for me on so many levels.
