A simple plot with excellent narration that captures the time and place and the many voices. I wasn’t sure why the book was titled Manassas until the final chapters. Underneath a story of revenge seeking and retribution with the early days of the Civil War as the backdrop.

For me, the single most important element in an audio book is the reader. For this book, which used original source interviews, almost all the interviewees were excellent. The book is a good resource for understanding police procedures in tracking serial killers. And the almost 40-year story line has sufficient suspense and anticipation to hold the listener’s interest. Some descriptions and language are graphic but to be expected in this type of book. The narrator does caution the listener about the graphic nature of the material prior to each section.

The book does an excellent deep-dive into the life and times of Albert Einstein. The book is not overly technical but does provide sufficient understanding of his work and its impact on our understanding of the world and universe around us. What’s new is a closer, more intimate look at his personal life. I thoroughly enjoyed the listen.
