Historia
After the settling dust of the demon uprising and two years of peace, rumblings from the Menzoberranzan drow have Jarlaxle nervous. Worried his allies may be pulled into a Civil War between the great Houses, he is eager to ensure Zaknafein is armed with weapons befitting his skill, including one in particular. A powerful artifact, the sword known as “Cutter” has started wars, corrupted its users, and spilled the blood of many, many people. Nonetheless - or maybe because of that - the rogue Jarlaxle and a small group will go on an expedition looking for the weapon’s last wielder.

Historia
In the fourth book of the multi-author Sundering series launched by New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Richard Lee Byers introduces Anton Marivaldi - a renowned reaver with an insatiable thirst for bounty and a moral compass that always leads him toward the evil he's never tried. Endless, pounding rain afflict the Sea of Fallen Stars and the coastal regions surrounding it. Harvests are failing, travel and trade are disrupted, and civilized forces are giving way to the deluges caused by the storms.

Some great moments.
Revisado: 02-26-21
The reviews complaining about it being "woke" are obviously fake, and haven't read Drizzt books before. The plot has been this for decades, long before "woke" was used this way.
That being said, Some of the story was quite boring, and even Victor Bevine (who has been absolutely marvellous for this series!) didn't do his best work here. The ending was pretty anti-climatic but otherwise ok... Just ok. Overall there were some truly great moments, but most of it was just meh.

Historia
In the 2nd book of the multi-author Sundering series launched by New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore, the shadow legacy of Erevis Cale lives on even as his old foe Mephistopheles seeks to stamp it out at any cost. Cale’s son Vasen - unmoored in time by the god Mask - has thus far been shielded from the archdevil’s dark schemes, alone among the servants of the Lord of Light who have raised him since birth. Living in a remote abbey nestled among the Thunder Peaks of Sembia, Vasen is haunted by dreams of his father, trapped in the frozen hell of Cania.

Wow this is so miserable...Absolute waste.
Revisado: 05-04-19
With what I alone spend on Magic cards you would think they could afford a narrator that isn't terrible? And maybe writing that was at least as good as when stories were free on the mothership?
Really want you know the story but this is so far below expectations I don't think I can finish it.
Edit: Forced myself to finish it, so many plot holes and missed opportunities. Magic has rarely had great stories but this was definitely one of the most pathetic... Don't waste your money or credits, you'll never get these hours of your life back!

Great story, miserable narration
Revisado: 05-21-18
Annoying voices for the characters. Sometimes gets the voice wrong during dialogue and it’s confusing because until you figure out which character was supposed to be speaking.
Story itself is great, when you can ignore the narrator... Overall vaguely disappointed but still going to listen to her reading the next five books, so... yeah.
