Historia
Just as Emmalee prepares to escape her hardscrabble life in Red Chert holler, Leona dies tragically. Grief-stricken, Emmalee decides she'll make Leona's burying dress, but there are plenty of people who don't think the unmarried Emmalee should design a dress for a Christian woman - or care for a child on her own.

A Tale of Community Hope
Revisado: 07-24-24
What a delightful story! This story takes beautiful twists and turns as it weaves a tale of healing and compassion as a community opens its arms to heal the past hurts of one of its newest young mothers. Lovely to listen to.

Unexpectedly Informative and Enlightening
Revisado: 04-18-22
This book was recommended to me as “a must read for all new couples and especially new parents”. I couldn’t agree more. It’s amazing how much old shame and misinformation we have around our sexuality. Seeking a fulfilling partnership requires mindful tending of the flame over time if we are to survive modern domestic life. I could relate to the information shared by the author and see my own life at different stages in many of the vignettes.
It’s never too late to change patterns that no longer serve and see things from a new perspective to hold on to the cherished relationship you once committed yourself to with such certainty. This book provides insight into what’s going on behind the scenes of the minds of various couples, helping the listener understand relationships with a significant other. I plan to use this information to continue to strengthen my own marriage. Thank you Dr. Perel for your openness in discussing the “taboos” of sex. Now I know what a sex therapist does!
