What a great surprise.

I randomly chose this book as I was ready to listen to something new. Not sure why I chose this one but so glad I did! The tremendous and deep story development was off the charts... every character is flawed, yet every character is memorable and most are those you could love. The narrator did a fantastic job. Honestly, this is definitely one of the best books I have listened to in months if not years. I'm going to recommend it to my book club! Excellent all the way around.

Don't pass this one up!

I enjoy listening to biographies from time to time, and I chose this one basically because I like Terry Crews... but I really didn't expect it to be as amazing as it was. I don't think I've ever heard a more candid and forthright memoir. This man absolutely exposes all in the most humble, forthright, and intelligent way. I particularly appreciated his views and sharing of feelings about racism in general, and racial issues in this country. It was refreshing and heartening and, again, his honesty and intellect really stand out. I would put this over Matthew McConaughey's very successful biography, along with multiple other best-selling biographies I have listened to or read. I rarely listen to audio books twice, unless it's been quite a long time, but I'm considering listening to this again right now to make sure I absorbed it all. I'm so grateful that he took the time, courage, and thoughtfulness to share.

What a pleasant surprise

I stumbled across this book and figured I'd give it a try as I've been listening to autobiographies lately. I didn't expect the depth and honesty in this work and I certainly didn't expect to relate in ways that affected me very deeply. The candid sharing in this book touched me profoundly, and as I have only recently started therapy late in life, I was able to relate portions to my own Journey and learn some things about myself.
This is worth the time.

Seriously ?

I only gutted this out because someone I know recommended it repeatedly. I have never been more perplexed by a book in my life. Maybe something was lost in the translation. Unnecessary rambling was maddening...and the end was hardly worth it. If you're into astrology, you might find a redeeming quality... otherwise, I recommend you run the other way and find a different book.

I was pleasantly surprised!

Honestly I got this book on a whim, it didn't hurt that it was free with my Audible membership. I don't know why I didn't have very high expectations, but it reeled me in. Well developed, unique storyline, great narration. An overall excellent experience. I highly recommend.

Nice easy addictive listen

This was a nice surprise. Great engagement for an audiobook, excellent performance. Plenty of plot twists. I'll listen to this author again.

Worth the wait!

I loved the first two novels in the series and it was a dream come true when a third came out. I haven't loved all of Grisham's novels in between, but I consider this one of his best! and as before, this narrator is top of the stack.

The misogynistic content overrides the plot

To be fair, I didn't get past chapter 6. I gave it is long as I could to have a story pull me in. Meanwhile I was gagging on the over-the-top self description of the main character. You don't have to love him, he loves himself quite enough. Maybe someday I'll see if I can get a little further but for now I need to listen to a real book. the narrator, however, was perfect for the part.

Deserved the great ratings!

I genuinely expected the amazing ratings were inflated because of the name behind the book. I was sadly mistaken! A remarkable mix of storytelling, thoughtful musings and in-your-face philosophies. His narration is unique to any book I've ever listened to including biographies. An unprecedented mix of humility, candid disclosures, and utter confidence. It's a fast listen because it's difficult to stop. I highly recommend it.
