Historia
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

poor narrator
Revisado: 02-11-25
I grew up reading these books, Jesse does a good job with Percy's voice as he's a 12 year old boy, but every other character sounds, just so bad. I really want to like this and to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when you make the God of the underworld sound like a whiny teenager, I just can't get past it.

The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent. But Elantris fell...10 years ago.

Bad mixing
Revisado: 07-09-24
the audio mixing was distracting, music was too loud and the constant musical score got extremely irritating after only a couple hours.

Historia
It seemed the unthinkable had happened. Someone had actually targeted the Ghalian, an order of assassins known and feared across the systems. It was madness. Only a fool would go after the likes of them. But, it seemed, the galaxy had no shortage of fools. Retaliation most bloody was in order, and one man stood ready to spring into action. Hozark was his name, and he was no ordinary man. He was a Master Ghalian, an assassin skilled in the ways of death. Practical, mechanical, magical, to him it made no difference.

Kinda boring
Revisado: 02-28-24
It's a story about a magical space assassin who is also a vampire, he succeeds at everything he does without struggle or difficulty. If he's not already good at something, it takes him about 5 minutes to become a master at it. It's really quite boring and reads like someone's self insert fanfiction. The overall story is fine, but the plot twists aren't very surprising.

Overall good, but poor audio mixing
Revisado: 09-14-23
The voice actors did an incredible job, excellent performances. The music choice is amazing, fantastic score.
The volume and mixing leaves a lot to be desired. It frequently covered up the speaking parts and was usually excruciatingly loud.
The story itself is excellent but can be kind of intense for someone not expecting the adult nature of the book.

A sexually charged and wickedly funny thriller starring Tony Award-winning actor Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke is the story of a shy Midwestern man leading an outrageous double life as the titular cocky Londoner. Moving to New York City and presenting himself as an Englishman, he charms his way into a wealthy family's life as the seductive and precocious Harry, whose increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to undo more than his persona.

I couldn't get past the narration, it was so over the top and annoying that I didn't even want to listen to the story.

Kinda Boring
Revisado: 02-02-19
The cast is enthusiastic and talented but the book itself is incredibly boring. You'd be better off reading the short stories off of a blog.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

This classic deserves better

I expected more.
Revisado: 03-20-18
The main idea of the story is interesting and the characters are well developed and relatable, but the author has a bad habit of spoiling himself; this makes it so there is no tension in any of the actions. You see everything coming because the author told you about it less than a chapter ago.
The voice acting is exceptional in the beginning of the book, but about half way they change the narrators for some of the characters for the worse.
My opinion is that you can skip this book, but if you're dying to read it, rent it from the library because it's not worth the money to buy it.
