Historia
Martyrs to hypochondria and general seediness, J. and his friends George and Harris decide that a jaunt up the Thames would suit them to a ‘T’. But when they set off, they can hardly predict the troubles that lie ahead with tow-ropes, unreliable weather-forecasts and tins of pineapple chunks – not to mention the devastation left in the wake of J.’s small fox-terrier Montmorency.

If you are a fan of doctor house and his humor you will enjoy this
Revisado: 02-17-23
Hugh Laurie is an excellent actor and the way he reads this book makes you laugh continuously. It’s true some jokes are more obvious and others hit you after a while but overall it has been an enjoyable story. Quite short for me - but enough to forget you’re stuck in the traffic jam 😅

Reminds me of Agatha Christie books
Revisado: 12-24-22
I’ve listened to about 10 different Christmas books and I think this is the best one so far. A muddier in a small town where everybody knows each other - very Agatha christie kind of scenario , but with a nice Christmas thatch 🥰

Historia
Game of Thrones fans watch in delight as the epic battle of Lannister and Stark entangles the Seven Kingdoms. But only the sharpest notice how these houses echo Lancaster and York in the War of the Roses. Druids, Catholics, and even Zoroastrians wander through Westeros, reframing their religions for a new world of fantasy. But how medieval is Westeros? Did lady knights and pirates really battle across Europe? The audiobook Winter is Coming: Symbols and Hidden Meanings in A Game of Thrones explores all this and more, from the echoes of history to the symbols and omens our beloved characters.

I found out some things I never knew and the historical facts that have inspired the author . I’m very impressed that “ The Wall” is actually inspired by the Adrian’s wall in Scotland …

Useful
Revisado: 01-25-21
The book is interesting and gave me many useful tips of how to organisé my environment and home, so I do recommend it. The thing that disturbed me is how the author makes fun of the Marikondo style thaw in the same time using most tips and even names of this method. How can you say it’s ridiculous and useless and then recommend the same thing? It’s really a punch below the belt that should have not been there. Otherwise - very good book :)

A spectacular best seller and now a classic, The Name of the Rose catapulted Umberto Eco, an Italian professor of semiotics turned novelist, to international prominence. An erudite murder mystery set in a fourteenth-century monastery, it is not only a gripping story but also a brilliant exploration of medieval philosophy, history, theology, and logic.

This book was a true delight to hear, I don’t think I’ve ever finished a book that fast... and the hommage to Arthur Conan Doyle is evident.
In my opinion it’s a masterpiece :)!

Historia
The Greek myths are amongst the greatest stories ever told, passed down through millennia and inspiring writers and artists as varied as Shakespeare, Michelangelo, James Joyce and Walt Disney. They are embedded deeply in the traditions, tales and cultural DNA of the West. You'll fall in love with Zeus, marvel at the birth of Athena, wince at Cronus and Gaia's revenge on Ouranos, weep with King Midas and hunt with the beautiful and ferocious Artemis.

Amazing and unforgettable
Revisado: 01-05-20
It has been an absolute pleasure listening to this marvelous book ... and not just the book but the author and narrator Stephen Fry is exquisite! Somehow he manages not just to captivate one into listening , but also into slowly submerging oneself into the deep pool of the English language and without even realizing it - you become addicted:)
It’s so har for me now to listen to the nonsense of the average writers and works, when they all have to go through the Standart comparison with Stephens work:))
