Book 3 in the series continues to keep you interested. It is just me but there are to many "intimate moments" for a western. However I am looking forward to book 4 in the series.

Not a good 2nd book

I really looked enjoyed the first book about Perley Gates and I was looking forward to book 2. What a let down. Book 2 is just a series of mish mash situations that delays Perley getting home. You could open this book up to any chapter and not miss a thing.
The narrator is good but not for this book. His voice is old and raspy suited to older characters, not a young Perley Gates. In my mind I had a hard time remembering that the characters were young adults not old timers.

Nice continuation of the Smoke Jensen stories. However after listening to several books the story line starts to be predictable. Jack Garrett is a wonderful narrator. He brings Smoke Jensen to life.
