Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Fun read, though broad at times
Revisado: 01-31-23
This is a quick and enjoyable listen/read. It is engaging and I connected with Elizabeth Zot and the other characters. I found it hard at times believing this is really the late 1950s and early 1960s with truly 2020s sensibilities. That, and the character Mad - too advanced for the 5 year old she is supposed to be. In short, a fun read.

Historia
Filled with practical advice and lessons, and backed by extensive research by Gentry and others, this book lays out the art, science, and practice behind learning and leading as a first time manager. Through first-hand accounts, stories, and other examples drawn from the experiences of first-time managers - including Gentry's own story of recently become a first-time manager himself - the book's practical, actionable content helps readers flip the old script, and write and live their new script.

Beware of False Promises
Revisado: 08-07-19
The book has a lot of practical advice for new leaders. It overuses the term, "flip your script." Most disappointing, however, the Audible version makes several references to supplemental materials on the CCL website. Also, in contrast to the best business books, there are not supplemental materials provided by the author for Audible. After I finished the book, as it recommended I went to the website. I could not locate the referenced supplemental materials so I inquired. The following is the response I received, "I wanted to follow up with you about your inquiry on the additional resources from the Be the Boss publication. Unfortunately the audio books may reference the additional resources, but in order to access the resources, you would need to purchase the hard copy or Digital copy." The cost for the digital copy is $19.95. This is disappointing.
