Jay Shetty is committed to sharing the wisdom and discipline he has learned as a monk. He walked away from a business career to study in an Ashram. He pulls wisdom from ancient scriptures, sports figures, honored men and women, famous businessmen, his own experience as well as the guides and teachers he had while in a monastery. He has made it his mission to share centering exercises and personal growth methods in an easily digestible format. The text is peppered with short stories and anecdote that make the nuggets of wisdom memorable. This book is rich with heavy knowledge but it presented as a light read. Jay Shetty is a raconteur and an aggregator of ancient wisdom... but he unwraps it from mythology and religious verbiage and makes the information current, personal and relevant. It is a shortcut to finding your better self and not to be missed.

Informative, well structured, motivating. This life changing proposal seems daunting but I am not even finished with the book yet and I am committed to doing this. I was already avoiding those foods because they make me feel bad, but I wasn’t doing it consistently and now I know why those foods are bad for me, I know why I wasn’t consistent, I know why I must be consistent and I am motivated to follow this structured discipline. I took the susceptibility test on line and I am a 7, I am at goal weight but it’s a daily struggle to stay there, and I want to be free of this burden. This practice will also help me to manage my food intolerances. Well done!

As soon as I finished the book, I wanted to listen to it again. I enjoyed the format and story so much that I treated it like a “beach read” knowing that I would to go back to those passages that spoke directly to my life. This book opens windows and, without pressure, invites you to look into your own patterns of self deception. For those of us who will not seek out a therapist, this book provides therapeutic benefit by sharing very human and relatable stories and the progress that people can achieve emotionally.

This provide the “How and Why”
information about the foods to include and exclude on a weight loss and health promoting diet. This book speaks to those who need to understand the chemistry and interaction of foods in our bodies, in order to be motivated to make changes.

Not at all relaxing, not empowering, not motivating. The narrative is ill conceived, strangely worded and spoken. The accompanying music is annoying and counter effective to meditation or hypnosis. This was just “thrown together” without regard to how hypnosis and guided or suggested therapy works. Don’t bother.

I bought it a $1.00 at a book warehouse sale. My first intro to subliminal motivation and it worked. For years I bought other CDs and digital downloads for diet, meditation etc. but none as good overall as this one (which I lost). I hunted this one down. It is one of the few that lets you lay and go to sleep with it. Good relax technique and good impulse control! Buy it and use it daily. It works.
