Historia
Chuck Rittenburg was one of the most intrepid storm chasers in the country until a bad decision resulted in the death of a young couple who'd paid to ride along. A decade later - broke, divorced, and estranged from his college-age children - he's got nothing left to lose. When a film producer offers Chuck one million dollars to help find and photograph a deadly tornado in Oklahoma, Chuck sees a chance to earn his kids' respect again-and maybe his own.

I was liking the main character and the dog, but I’m just Not interested in a lecture about gay tolerance or intolerance or whatever it ended up being. The narrator was very good. I didn’t stick with it long enough to get to any action parts, because the nonsense with the son was Just Too Tedious.

Historia
Bethany and Gary had a lot in common. Both were independent-minded and self-sufficient. They were well aware of the dangers in the world and did what they could to be ready for anything, just in case. As the world spiraled out of control, it appeared their worst fears were coming true before their very eyes, just as they were beginning to fall in love and begin their lives together. When disaster struck, they would find their preparations and their love would be tested, but would their struggle to survive bring them closer together or tear them apart?

Having a hard time recommending at all.

Overall: I finished it, but I used the 'forward' button more than a few times. Still, it managed to tell a basic story without the use of gratuitous profanity (isn't that redundant?). Performance: Not really my thing to listen to the nasal redneck vocals, and she seems to have not read through the dialogs much, placing the emphasis in the wrong places - so much that it didn't come across as a way the average person would actually speak. Ever. Story: Really, after listening to dozens in this genre, I found it lacking in accuracy, timeline tracking, and basic 'suspension of disbelief' believability for this type of writing. Frankly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. Also, the author giving himself a plug in the book...kind of tacky and tedious rather than funny.
