If only there were a tv series. Though, it can never be as good as we imagine it as we read or listen. This is truly a modern masterpiece.

With over 500 fantasy titles and 100s of LitRPG, this is easily in top 5. This series would be an epic streaming series for anyone brave enough to do it. For those looking for other gems like this, check out "The Wandering Inn", "HWFWM", Life Reset(Also Jeff Hays i believe) in that order. The Wandering Inn and this stand as my favorite 2 LitRPG. They are both incredibly good for different reasons.

As far as how this book in the series contends with others, its probably one of the best. Definitely top3 of the series. This is the climax to alot of other plot lines that have built up over the entire series. Id say Samantha is one of the funnier characters as well as some of the cards or "totems" you will meet.

Mastercraft in character writing

I have over 500 fantasy novels in my library and this is in the top 5, so far. You hate characters then learn to like them and vice versa. Its more in the style of GoT in which no character is safe, magic is..real but not understood, and the story are the characters themselves. I see alot complaining about Fenn, but this isnt your happy ending book. She did what people do in real life. I will say if something happens to Grub, ill stop listening, jk. Grub is one of the better characters ever laid to page. Cant wait for more.

Decent book, but its certainly not your typical litRPG. Only a few elements exist of litRPG. TGR did an excellent job as always.

Top of the Fantasy class

I have over 300 fantasy books in my audible collection and just as many on paper, if not more. I dont often write reviews, unless, of course, its special. This one is special and belongs in the top ten on my list of all time greatest.

The book begins with two boys who fall into a bit of trouble and find their way into a work camp. What follows is a chase that rivals, and in my opinions bests, that of WoT. On this harrowing journey, we not only get a great deal of backstory for the "good guys" but also the "bad guys". As the book continues, the line between good and bad blurs. You will love the main characters one moment and despise them the next. You will laugh, cry, and scream in frustration. Its a rare fantasy novel that can get my emotions stirring, but this one certainly does. Keep a lookout for Grub - my personal favorite.

For those fantasy heads out there. GET THIS BOOK. Ive recommended to all my friends and all love it so far. Its a rare thing for a fantasy to surprise me. Even rarer when I cant stop listening to it. You are doing yourself a disservice if you pass this one by. Trust me.

Ive seen several complaints about the narration. I dont get it. Hes great. Could have been better, but the title doesnt suffer for it at all. I look forward to the next title and hope the narrator stays.

Ok...The narrator annoyed me greatly at first when she would pronounce mountain without the "t", like a school aged valley girl. It seems it was noticed by the second book and it mostly stopped.

The story was ok...I was looking forward to it ending so i could move to the next series. If you are extremely bored and at the end of your literary buffet, id say its worth a bite. Little more though.
