I always enjoy M.L Hamiton / Kelley Hazen books. I don't typically spend the money on any books shorter than 8 hours, but I admit I can't resist this author / narrator combo. You shouldn't miss this intro to another series.

Fun well swritten series!

Love this series! Great character development and sense of community. The central mystery in this story is intriguing and well written. The entire story is even more enjoyable due to delightful drops of humor that flow naturally as a result of interactions between neighbors, friends and family. The narrator continues to bring just the right amount of personality to each of the characters. We're looking forward to the next installment.

Fun and intelligent read

This series kept me engaged from beginning to end. Storyline and characters are wonderful. In all honesty 90% of my enjoyment is the performance. Kelley Hazen gives life to this extremely well written series.

Intelligent writing & excellent narration!

The stories are well developed and just complex enough to keep the readers attention. I've read so many books narrated by Kelley Hazen. She performs every series exactly the way the authors intend their characters to be portrayed. Great combination of writing and performing!!

lots of foul language

story not up to Amanda Lee's norm

It was really hard to listen to Angel Clark (narrator). Many of her character voices were great but her screechy voice for the main female characters was like finger nails on blackboards. I think she would be a really good narrator if she could remove that one, high, whiny voice from her repertoire. Also the lead character was not very likeable in any way. That made it hard or me to enjoy this story.

The story line is so good but so much time and character development in books 2 and 3 are around stereotypical female hysteria, tears, anger and inability to reason. Framing the heroine as someone who can't manage her professional or personal life was a conflict for me. I found myself both irritated and wanting to continue the books to see the resolution. Kelley Hazen knocks it out of the park as the narrator.

Kelly Hazen is such a good narrator, truly my favorite. She put the authors intended drama into her reading. My personal preference would have been to tone down the intensity every time 'Breanna" screeched in anger or her sister yelled in demanding condescension. Still i truly enjoyed the plot line and wished it could have been developed with more strength and reason in the main character.

I'm not usually too interested in super natural stories but have loved M.L. Hamilton's other series and novels so I tried this one too. What a creative spin on super natural powers. The plot is engaging and totally drew me in. I can't wait to get into the second book in this trilogy. I won't waste your time telling you plot lines or characters but I will tell you to read or listen to this book. You won't be sorry.
