The story was interesting enough but the characters were weird and poorly written. I know the author is “Elizabeth Adler” but is this a pen name for a man? There are so many weirdly misogynistic tropes in this book. All of the female character are written like helpless and unlikable waifs. The men have savior complexes. One character actually victim blamed a murder victim. It’s super odd. I kept being throw out of the story due to super overtly misogynistic undertones.

Good book, bad performance

I love this series. I absolutely hate the performance. There is something really annoying about the person reading this book. Mostly, I think it's the fact that you can hear her swallowing her own spit or water or whatever it is.
