Historia
It’s the opening night of The Manor, the newest and hottest luxury resort, and no expense, small or large, has been spared. The infinity pool sparkles; the “Manor Mule” cocktail (grapefruit, ginger, vodka, and a dash of CBD oil) is being poured with a heavy hand. Everyone is wearing linen.

In the spring of 2020, Lara’s three daughters return to the family's orchard in Northern Michigan. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the story of Peter Duke, a famous actor with whom she shared both a stage and a romance years before at a theater company called Tom Lake. As Lara recalls the past, her daughters examine their own lives and relationship with their mother, and are forced to reconsider the world and everything they thought they knew.

Listened Because Meryl but Disappointed
Revisado: 07-26-24
I have never liked anything on Reese’s Book Club list, I decided to give this title on her list one last try because Meryl Streep but it was awful. I waited for it to get good reviews it never did.

Historia
High-powered businesswoman Lana Rubicon has a lot to be proud of: her keen intelligence, impeccable taste, and the L.A. real estate empire she’s built. But when she finds herself trapped 300 miles north of the city, convalescing in a sleepy coastal town with her adult daughter Beth and teenage granddaughter Jack, Lana is stuck counting otters instead of square footage—and hoping that boredom won’t kill her before the cancer does.

Just Okay
Revisado: 01-11-24
Nothing earth shattering, it was just okay. Kind of boring story line, could have been more suspenseful. A lot of details about the way things smell, just a lot of unnecessary details unless that was supposed to be part of the “detective work” in my opinion the details didn’t add to the story.

Just okay not written well
Revisado: 06-21-23
Spoiler alert: the “time travel” isn’t explained very well and there seems to be a lot of unnecessary descriptive writing, to the point where it just seems like she’s trying to write to fill pages but it adds no value to the actual story line. It wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t recommend anyone read it.

This information felt so outdated, I could have done a search and found all the information I needed but the information really just seemed obvious. There was nothing revolutionary. I didn’t walk away feeling like I had gained any knowledge but wasted my time.

In My Opinion It Could Have Been An Email
Revisado: 06-06-22
I could have done without the first 16 chapters. It also only mentions parenting a kid with ADHD one time so a lot of these tactics aren’t going to work on nuerodivergent kids. What’s the saying in corporate America why did we have a meeting? This could have been an email. There are some good tips near the 3rd to last chapter but who has time for all of the meetings and conferences she recommends families have? She recommends parent conferences weekly. I’m lucky if my husband and I get 2 minutes between dinner and bath time, it’s just really not practical. There is also a lot of plugging throughout the book for her workbooks and conferences l, if I’ve got 3 days I’m not spending it at a conference I’m going on vacation. I don’t want to say it wasn’t informative but it certainly didn’t need to be as long as it was. I had to buy the audiobook cause I could hardly get through the hard copy. I didn’t want to give up on the book and not give it an honest review but for as much actual knowledge she bestows upon her easer it could have literally been an email.

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

In My Opinion
Revisado: 06-04-22
This was recommended to me after reading The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo which I thought was just okay but this was written like a script and I’m not sure if that was the intention so it would get picked up as a show but it was so boring and there was no character development outside of addiction problems and egos, I would not recommend this I hope the show ends up being good at least.

Slow Start but Loved the Ending
Revisado: 05-15-22
It was a slow start it wasn’t until 3 or 4 chapters in that it really started to draw me in and once it was getting towards the end I had to finish. I will seek out more books from this author.
