Historia
Constance Greene confronts Manhattan’s most dangerous serial killer, Enoch Leng, bartering for her sister's life—but she is betrayed and turned away empty-handed, incandescent with rage. Unknown to Leng, Pendergast’s brother, Diogenes, appears unexpectedly, offering to help—for mysterious reasons of his own. Disguised as a cleric, Diogenes establishes himself in New York's notorious Five Points slum, manipulating events like a chess master, watching Leng’s every move…and awaiting his own chance to strike.

I miss the earlier Pendergast storylines
Revisado: 10-11-24
I have read every book in the Pendergast series and find the latest installments far inferior to the earlier stories.

Historia
Heads always turned when Rose McCarthy walked into a room. Nearly six feet tall, she was ramrod straight, and impeccably put together with faultless style, long graceful legs, her snow-white hair cut in a chin-length rounded cap. Her piercing blue eyes missed nothing. She could terrify anyone with a few well-chosen, soft-spoken, eloquent words, or comfort and delight a young employee with generous praise. For 25 years, she had been the legendary editor in chief of Mode magazine.

Not Danielle Steele’s Best
Revisado: 03-12-21
I’m a regular DS reader and enjoy her style. This book, however, never really caught me. I kept waiting for something to happen but there was quite a bit of repetition and no deep plot.

Worst Danielle Steel book I’ve ever read
Revisado: 12-22-20
This book was very disappointing. Limited characters and repetitive nature of the dialogue. Not what I’ve come to expect from Ms Steel.
