Historia
Los Angeles is a city of sunlight, celebrity, and possibility. The L.A. often experienced by Homicide Lt. Detective Milo Sturgis and psychologist Alex Delaware, is a city of the dead. Early one morning, the two of them find themselves in a neighborhood of pretty houses, pretty cars, and pretty people. The scene they encounter is anything but. A naked young man lies dead in the street, the apparent victim of a collision with a moving van hurtling through suburbia in the darkness. But any thoughts of accidental death vanish when a blood trail leads to a nearby home.

Good Enough.
Revisado: 04-11-22
Well narrated and a good storyline. I had a hard time "staying" with it at times. It did not "grab" me like some stories and my mind wondered but overall, it was a good story and well done.

Historia
The woman’s body was found in the early morning, on a bench in a New York City playground. She was clean, her hair neatly arranged, her makeup carefully applied. But other things were very wrong—like the tattoo and piercings, clearly new. The clothes, decades out of date. The fatal wound hidden beneath a ribbon around her neck. And the note: Bad Mommy, written in crayon as if by a child.

UGG! Couldn't finish it.
Revisado: 04-11-22
The story is ok and I struggled through many chapters hoping "it" would get better. I realized that it was narrator. The narrator can make or break a good story and for me, this narrator ruined it for me. I gave up and couldn't finish the book. The narration is like someone reading a child's story. The inflection and phrasing is so childish. All the characters seem like children. I just couldn't get passed it. Good luck.

Historia
Kay Willingham led a life as glamorous as it was public - she was a gorgeous Georgetown socialite, philanthropist, and the ex-wife of the vice president. So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Who shot them both, point blank, and why? The shocking double homicide is blazed across the internet, TV, newspapers - and across Alex Cross's mind. Kay had been his patient once. And maybe more.

Reading to a child?
Revisado: 05-05-21
The plot is like most Cross books, nothing new. The part that was hard for me was the narration. Most of the time he has infection like he’s speaking to a child or reading to a child. It drove me nuts and made it hard to get through this book.

Tired and Used Storyline.
Revisado: 05-05-21
I’ll start with the positive, The performance by both readers is very good. It is the only thing that got me through this book. There’s nothing new in this book. The plot is something that’s been used 1 million times. At the very end, and I mean the very end the last chapter, there is a twist but again it’s an old one it didn’t surprise me at all. It’s obvious to me that this author has run out of new things to write about.

Historia
Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims - a bit too strongly.

Really Stupid
Revisado: 09-30-18
This book is filled with unbelievable characters. The main character is someone who is a cutter and has scratched words into every inch of her body, except her face and the middle of her back. At the same time, the writer wants us to believe that this person can have a reasonably normal life as a reporter. Her whole family is dysfunctional and unbelievable. The 13 year old daughter is one minute playing with an over the top, extravagant doll house and the next second is wearing a mini skirt and flirting with grown men. She acts 2-3 years old one minute and then 30 years old the next. It's ridiculous. The mother is another piece of cake and is also unbelievable. She puts up with the daughter's unconscionable behavior and is just plain weird, crazy and unsympathetic to the reader. I got through the book as it is well delivered but the whole time I was saying to myself; "This is really stupid!"

Historia
The year is 1876. Warring Indian tribes still populate America's western territories, even as lawless gold-rush towns begin to mark the landscape. In much of the country, it is still illegal to espouse evolution. Against this backdrop two monomaniacal paleontologists pillage the Wild West, hunting for dinosaur fossils while surveilling, deceiving, and sabotaging each other in a rivalry that will come to be known as the Bone Wars.

Like the Great Train Robbery
Revisado: 09-16-18
I'm not a fan of this narrator but the story is interesting enough to stay connected. It's not what I expected. I thought it would be more like a "Jurassic Park" but it's really a western. Written in Crichton's style similar to The Great Train Robbery. It's a fun read and kept me listening.

Good Mystery from a Christian Author
Revisado: 08-09-18
The Pros: The story is well written and a good mystery. If you are easily offended by the mention of God, Prayer or Scripture, then this book is NOT for you. I don't quite understand people who will give a bad review solely because of it's spiritual content. I didn't find it offensive nor did I think it distracted from the story. There are very few mentions of a spiritual nature. It is written in a similar style to Francine Rivers. Something very positive about the book is that there is no bad language and no sex.
The Cons: I thought the reader read too fast. At first, I thought my iPhone was on 1.25 or 1.50 X speed. She also doesn't distinguish very well between characters with her voice. This is one book that might have benefited from different readers; one female and one male. However, I still was able to listen to the book and enjoy it. The speed was just a minor irritation but that is why I only gave 3 stars.

Too Stupid
Revisado: 07-25-18
I wanted to finish this book but I finally gave up. It is one of those books that's filled with literary cliches. It is not believable in any sense of the word. When I listen to a book, I get a visual in my mind of the story. That was hard to do with this book. The premise of the story is unbelievable and the actions of the characters are just plain stupid.

Nothing Surprising in This One
Revisado: 07-24-18
Performance is very good and the story is ok. It was easy to listen to and intriguing enough. However, I don't like being able to figure out "who don'it" so soon in the book. There are also a lot of cliches. I knew what was going to be said before it was actually read. Moreover though it was entertaining, like watching a SVU rerun.
