Best plot. Amazing characters. Colorful language. Perhaps the absolute height of the post 911 terrorist genre. You must read this book. Performance was award worthy.

Good performance, predictable story line.Enjoyable

Never knew whether to like or hate the main character. He is a lawyer after all. Many technical errors. For example, says that the French term "voir dire" is Latin. Several other goofy errors like that throughout the book. I didn't know whether it was the character screwing up or the author since it was narrated in the first person. Overall I enjoyed the book but would not listen to it again or see the movie if any.

Whiny bumbling Bosch

If you like your heroes crying in their beer every five minutes and stumbling through one stupid mistake after another this is the book for you. I know Harry misses his Mom, but get over it already.It has been decades since she left him behind.
To top it off he falls for a lady friend who is almost as neurotic as he is. Add the annoying voices provided by the reader and this book is so bad you can't stop listening for feeling it must get better at some point. It doesn't.
This may be the last Bosch for me and I was a fan until now.
