It's always fun to get a peak behind the curtain of a favorite show, and this book is definitely that. It's hilarious and sentimental.. But it is also so, so much more. Just like the show, this book is both a love letter and a call to public service. Mary Mccormick and Melissa Fitzgerald lovingly share stories that inspire and tangibly encourage us to, borrowing a phrase from former real life FLOTUS Michelle Obama, "Do something!" I could say so much more, but this review is long enough, so I'll just go binge watch the West Wing now (for the 2,162nd time) and leave you to go read and/or listen to "What's Next?". And then go do something.

Possibly the best resource currently available

This book was so much more than I expected. Sara Hendren does an incredible job of examining the concepts of adaptive and universal design in both practical and philosophical ways. She draws important connections between physical and social space that are often overlooked in discussion of accessibility. She is also a wonderful narrator.

Disappointing

I gave up after 11 chapters. It's terribly overwritten. Too many new characters/new aliens without enough substance to support them. Riker and Troi aren't even mentioned until chapter 5. Six chapters later and there hasn't been any mention of Troi since. It's also upsetting that Tuvok and his wife T'pel are treated as scene dressing. If such well known characters are going to be included at all, then they should have a decent role to play. The basic premise is interesting but David Mack failed to deliver this time. The writing is just not worthy of Star Trek. Sadly, the narration didn't help any. I'm returning this one. 🙁
