Not for me or anyone who doesn’t enjoy Hallmark movies 🙃

I wish there was a Hallmark category or tag so that I could avoid purchasing this genre. Nice enough story though the dialogue are way too saccharine for my taste.

To me the narrator is breathy and inauthentic. Ultimately this is on me for listening to a sample and still clicking to purchase. I couldn’t bring myself to finish the book.

All the feels!

This was funny, smart, quirky and heartwarming. I was in love with the characters and cared deeply about what was going to happen to Margo and her baby. The narration was spot on. Thoroughly entertaining!

Probably a better read than listen

For me, the most important aspect of an audio book is the narration. I was so excited for this book I pre-ordered and did not listen to a sample. Sadly the narration was not enjoyable for me and detracted from the story. The awkward Italian pronunciation of Capri was particularly annoying. The characters are American so I would think they would pronounce Capri as Americans do.

While the storyline was not as solid as other books by Emily Giffin, there was enough there to keep me interested. The descriptions of Capri made me feel as if I were there.

I could have done without the layering in of social and political stereotypes and obvious author’s opinions. This genre is what I reach for to escape social and political nuances.

Chicago Five Stars Every Time

I have loved every book of the Chicago Stars series and this one is no different. Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a gifted writer and the resulting audio books are always incredibly entertaining. Nicole Poole is one of a kind.

Sweet, well written story and self help book all in one!

Enjoyable and thought provoking about one’s own happiness. Everyone should make a happiness list and follow the happiness club protocol. A special nod to the spot on narration.

A little too “saccharin” for me

A nice story with interesting characters and decent narration. The dialogue is what I didn’t enjoy; it was unnatural and overly sweet.

Couldn’t finish

While the storyline was sweet and somewhat interesting, I couldn’t get interested or care about the characters. I kept listening, hoping to get a spark of emotion and it never happened. I stopped with less than an hour left and couldn’t be bothered to finish.
