Historia
Wealthy heiress Rosalie Ambermere doesn't know why Gideon Reed sits scowling in her sitting room. Or why she finds him so appealing. She'd envisioned her heart falling to a serene gentleman, not to this unpolished, brooding man. And yet she finds Mr. Reed absurdly attractive. Surely her craving for his touch is due to the strange powder she recently inherited from her rakehell cousin.

Not what i expected
Revisado: 01-16-23
This story was exactly the kind of story that i needed to break away from the stresses of the week. A unique storyline, surprisingly light and funny with plenty of heat. Also i liked that it was so different from other books from this author, a true treat.

I hate putting it down
Revisado: 04-28-21
I have been a fan of James Rollins for many years. His works appeal to me on multiple levels. The use of historical and present day facts and information. His use of science fiction but, so much that it isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Last but not least, military involvement. Being, now retired, military this grasped my attention and has held it from the first book I picked up. Like the science fiction, the military aspect is used but not overly so. I recommend this book along with ALL others by James Rollins.

Historia
James, the scandalously uncivilized Duke of Harland, requires a bride with a spotless reputation for a strictly business arrangement. Lust is prohibited, and love is out of the question. Charlene Beckett, the unacknowledged daughter of an earl and a courtesan, has just been offered a life-altering fortune to pose as her half-sister, Lady Dorothea, and win the duke's proposal.

best book I've listened to in a long time
Revisado: 02-24-17
This book is very well written. I was impressed by both author and narrator which isn't something I say lightly.
I find it harder and harder to find a romance with a good story line and a narrator to do the story justice.
I look forward to finding more books by Lenora Bell and Narrations by Beverley A. Crick.
My only criticism would be that the narrator's version is a Hispanic accent and a Japanese accent are suspiciously similar but I found it more amusing than anything.
