Historia
Over two grim nights in Los Angeles, the young followers of Charles Manson murdered seven people, including the actress Sharon Tate, then eight months pregnant. With no mercy and seemingly no motive, the Manson Family followed their leader's every order. Twenty years ago, when journalist Tom O'Neill was reporting a magazine piece about the murders, he worried there was nothing new to say. Then he unearthed shocking evidence of a cover-up behind the "official" story, including police carelessness, legal misconduct, and potential surveillance by intelligence agents.

I loved this book.
Revisado: 07-26-23
I loved this book for the ‘writer’s story’ that was threaded through. I loved the first person descriptions of how he got pulled into the bizarre rabbit holes. I definitely took the theories of another cause and effect of the Manson family actions with a grain-no, a bucket—of salt
But they were entirely entertaining.

Historia
International business requires a deep level of industry insight but also a keen understanding of the cultural differences that impact how business is done. If you’re an American working in China or Japan for the first time, you may not realize the way each culture thinks and reasons is quite different from your own, which can lead to frequent misunderstandings. You may be unaware, for example, that Americans reason in a linear manner, Chinese in a lateral manner, and Japanese intuitively.

Best book I’ve read in a long time
Revisado: 07-04-23
Mr Conrad presented a much nuanced analysis of the many ways that Americans, Chinese and Japanese think differently and how we have interacted with each other as countries and individuals. Very thought provoking.

Historia
Two investigations. Two impeachments. Two acquittals. One president. The full story. Unprecedented. Unimaginable. Until Donald Trump’s presidency. A year apart, two ferocious political dramas challenged American democracy. As Pulitzer Prize - winning Washington Post reporters Kevin Sullivan and Mary Jordan show in this gripping account, the two Trump impeachments and acquittals shared common threads: An American president, relentless in his drive to win re-election, willing to disregard the laws that limit his powers, no matter the cost.

Historia
At 28, Stephanie Land's dreams of attending a university and becoming a writer quickly dissolved when a summer fling turned into an unplanned pregnancy. Before long, she found herself a single mother, scraping by as a housekeeper to make ends meet. Maid is an emotionally raw, masterful account of Stephanie's years spent in service to upper-middle-class America as a "nameless ghost" who quietly shared in her clients' triumphs, tragedies, and deepest secrets.

Should be read in every high school
Revisado: 02-06-19
This book is every bit as much a rite of passage tale as Catcher in the Rye. It opens up a world that some aren’t exposed to and reveals a path through for those who know this reality all too well.

Historia
For high-powered personal injury attorney Noah Byron, the good things in life come with a price tag - cars, houses, women. That's why he represents only cases that come with the possibility of a nice cut of the action. But as a favor to his ex-wife, he meets with the mother of twelve-year-old Joel, a boy poisoned by tainted children's medicine. While the official story is that a psycho tampered with bottles, the boy's mother believes something much more sinister is at work...and the trail leads right back to the pharmaceutical company.

Really good legal story
Revisado: 11-26-17
I really enjoyed this as much as a Turow or a Grisham. I will read other novels by this author. Good story flow and the legal details were accurate.
