Most relatable marriage book yet!

From the opening of this book to the closing, I felt as if the author was writing from direct inspiration of my own marriage. It was funny in just the right spots and vulnerable throughout. Finally a book that explains why I feel the trust and safety has been stripped from my marriage even though my spouse has never engaged in an affair or as the author suggested, “gambled away our family’s resources.” It’s the first book I’ve shared with my husband in hopes there is a chance to salvage our relationship with the help of this book and counseling.

Favorite of the Winston Bros books

I listened to the Winston Brothers series out of order, with this being the last one I listened to and it was my favorite! Maybe it was how lovable Sienna was or how believable the development of the love story was between J and S! Either way, 5 stars all around! I love all things Green Valley, TN and Penny Reid!!!!

That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to. Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence, due to my illness, and all were punished.

I wanted to like it...

I love a good a mystery with a surprise but this book came up well short. The characters weren’t believable: a high powered attorney turned meek wife, a public sports reporter being abused and no one ever noticed, it’s all just too hard to buy in to. My most liked character was the detective. The book isn’t terrible but not in anyone’s top 100 by any means.

This book is exactly what I needed at this point in my life. I love how Andrea brings to light the REAL LIFE struggles us women face on a daily basis and let’s us know we’re not alone.
