Historia
It has been five years since Kip Howard saw his mother killed horribly by a blur of "little brown things."Five years of nightmares and a terror of dark places. Five years of struggling to overcome what must have been just his imagination... But the "untcigahunk," the Indian word for "little brothers," are no one's imagination. Hideous forest creatures who feed every five years on human flesh, the little brothers are about to emerge from underground once again.

Don't waste a credit on this.

The story itself is weak and filled with logic gaps, rehashing the same statements over and over, with over the top and drawn out descriptions of every little thing (at one point it took 5 minutes of rambling descriptions just for Kipp to walk to a window), topped off by a "drunken indian" stereotype complete with "pale face" lines and all.
And the guy reading it just makes it worse, with his weird cadence and awkward pauses in his reading. He sounds like casey kasem tried his hand at reading for audio books and failed miserably.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Dug has yet to be impressed by a computer game, but that's before he gets hooked by Companions of Xanth-and the beguilingly beautiful princess-serpent he's chosen to guide him. Nada Naga has her work cut out for her keeping Dug's eyes on the magical prize . . . and off of her human form.

Meh.

His early Xanth books were really good, idk why they chose this one to be the only one they made into an audio book, it's nowhere near as good as his earlier novels. The story is pretty bland and the guy reading it is really awful. His cadence, inflection, emotional tones, etc, everything is just really weird and off the way he reads it. It's just really disappointing overall.
