Love this series! Well written, actually has a plot and not just "mature themes". Although there are those and the narrator does them perfectly. His voice is perfectly suited to these books!!

Disappointed

I'm a Samantha Young fan. That said, the 2 books in this series were a huge disappointment. lots of travel between what happens last month to ahead to past, etc. Hard to keep up with in a listening format. Then, there's the big secret in each book which doesn't really help the story line. And sorry to say but the narrator doesn't use much distinction in her voices. Kinda wasted my time.

this might have been a good storyline if I could have concentrated on it without laughing at the overdramatized narration. seriously, who chooses these narrators and does no one listen to them before release? Samantha Young writes pretty good stories but especially in this one the female narrator makes the male brogue sound like the man is dumb as a stump and her overacting at the so-called sexy parts were laughable. someone get serious about narration out there!!

i have mixed feelings about this book. there is a lot of time changes back and forth and LOTS of introspection which isn't necessarily bad, but then 3/4 of the way through it's decided that it will be a romance novel with a couple of suspense (very light) thrown in. i felt the author, whom I usually enjoy, either had a helper who didn't know what was going on or the author was having other things happening in her life that distracted her from what could have been a great book.

the series needs male and female narrators as current one female sometimes makes it difficult to understand who is talking. this also applies to all voices in general. she does do the accent well, you just don't easily know who is speaking otherwise series is great and I will continue

Sophomoric at best

I bought the first 5 books on sale thinking I was getting a great deal. Wrong! Story line is totally predictable and seems like a first attempt. Sarah McEwan's voice was hardly distinguishable on her characters except for one which she made seem like a person who would get on your last nerve. If there is a book six, I won't be wasting my money.

I don't want to sound mean but this narrator has ruined two of CindyvGerard's books. They must think his Latin accent is hot when really what it is ...is funny. He gets so very dramatic that drinking a glass of water would come off like there was a bomb going off in Times Sq. Not every word has to be so dramatic! I know this wasn't supposed to be a comedy, but I laughed all the way through. Lowered my score second time around.

Don't know what the naysayers read. I enjoyed the developing storyline and smooth narration. if heroine whined a bit and always got her way, well isn't that just life.
