Clear and Practical
Revisado: 01-06-25
I listened to this book twice through because of its practicality and applicability. My second time through allowed me to see where I started naturally shifting my thought patterns and habits only the awareness of having listened to this book the first time. Going to get the paperback version to keep on my desk for reference.

So often the adult struggle is left out of informative reads on neurodiversities, especially Autism / Aspergers and ADHD. ADHD is getting better. Thankful to have a quick, informative, and easily digested book to at to my library. I plan to gift out the book too. Thank you!

Super Informative and Easily Referenced
Revisado: 11-09-20
I’m just beginning my Aspergers journey, have discovered that in addition to ADHD, all of us in my family of four are also Aspies. This book explained so much struggle in my life, including my marriage. Would love to hear more about aspie male + aspie female coupling. After 20+ years together, it’s reassuring I’m not broken nor the sole issue source. I wish there were an accompanying handbook or detailed index (with times for the audio version). I cannot recommend their book enough...

I have been focusing my personal development into awareness. Mindfulness, meditation and a growth mindset have helped me immensely with finding the pause before action, being more comfortable in the uncomfortable, and being self-accepting and -loving.
What I didn’t realize is that in my learning I had missed some foundational understanding. This course really threaded concepts and actions together for me through the clear and easy to consume instruction.

Great Info and Accompanying PDF
Revisado: 12-29-19
Well thought out and nicely put together. The examples, although seemingly long or somewhat redundant, really honed in my understanding of this content, executive functions and how they show up, and approaches to take. I also appreciate that there was acknowledgment of parental EF struggles and how to work through that when shared with your kiddo. The performance was okay, but at times it felt like a lecture from mom or a teacher due to tone and inflection. Could just be me. She was clear and consistent with her reading.

Historia
When facing contentious issues such as screen time, food choices, and bedtime, children often act out or shut down, responding with reactivity instead of receptivity. This is what New York Times best-selling authors Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson call a No Brain response. But our kids can be taught to approach life with openness and curiosity. When kids work from a Yes Brain, they’re more willing to take chances and explore. They’re more curious and imaginative. They’re better at relationships and handling adversity.

Developing an Internal North Star
Revisado: 09-01-19
I really enjoyed this book and that it focused on and provided concrete ways to help your kiddos develop an internal “North Star” to allow them to create a space for pause, reflection, empathy, and emotional awareness... to check-in with themselves for understanding from within.
Just as important is providing the foundation for kiddos to be curious, explore, and develop their self concept from inside out, not basing their perceived worth on outward metrics or judgements of others. Powerful in helping develop a human that is being with purpose versus doing for box checking.

I’m an ADHD mom with ADHD kids. I didn’t know I was ADHD until after my kids were diagnosed. A lifetime of struggle became clear. From the perspective of an undiagnosed child going through life to a parent of ADHD kiddos, I found this spot on and insightful in so many ways. It’s improved my life and my children’s lives with connection and understanding. Life’s not perfect and we continue our struggles, but we come through in a better way and have focus forward.

Historia
Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

So very helpful!
Revisado: 10-17-18
The approach is tactical, practical, and real life. This is a way of approaching problem solving in life, at home with (explosive/non-explosive) kiddos, but also with spouse, coworkers, etc. It teaches thinking through and figuring out what is truly the problem to solve, seeing the problem from different perspectives, and solutioning the problem together. Real world application.
