Another Great Book in the Stranger Times Series
Revisado: 02-16-23
I read this book on Kindle and listened to the excellent narration of the audiobook performed by Brendan McDonald. His voice and characterization is now what I hear in my head when I read the books in this series and he has been given quite the challenge with, I believe, 51 characters at this point! Everything about this book is well done, the story, the characters and the narration. It is the third in this series and I envy those who are just now discovering this outstanding author! You’ve got some very entertaining reading/listening to enjoy!

Historia
Vampires do not exist. Everyone knows this. So it's particularly annoying when they start popping up around Manchester. Nobody is pleased about it. Not the Founders, the secret organisation for whom vampires were invented as an allegory, nor the Folk, the magical people hidden in plain sight who only want a quiet life. And definitely not the people of Manchester, because there is nothing more irksome than being murdered by an allegory run amok. Somebody needs to sort this out fast before all hell really breaks loose - step forward the staff of The Stranger Times.

Revisado: 03-13-22
Loved this book. An outstanding follow up to The Stranger Times. Can’t wait for the next one in the series. Mr. McDonald does a fantastic job of voicing all the characters (and there are a lot!) adding to what is already a wonderful story. Highly recommend.

Historia
Bunny McGarry has finally got a lead in his mission to find the Sisters of the Saint, but the lead, one Father Gabriel de Marcos, isn’t willing to play ball. Desperate times call for desperate measures and Bunny has to put the padre under surveillance with a little help from some old friends. Father Gabriel runs a boxing club at the bad end of the Bronx, battling to keep kids out of gangs - noble, thankless work. Thing is, saints don’t typically have assassins sent after them. What sins are hidden in the padre’s mysterious past?

Wonderful!
Revisado: 11-22-19
This might be the best one yet, although they’re all so good, it’s hard to make that distinction. Morgan C. Jones does his usual excellent job of voicing the wonderfully engaging characters. I found myself completely drawn into the story and eager to get back to it, and also laughing out loud frequently. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Historia
All Bunny McGarry wants is a spot of breakfast and a decent cup of tea. So imagine how annoyed he gets when two masked men attempt to rob the New York diner he is in. Unfortunately, dealing with that problem just leads to a whole lot more. One of the diner’s other customers isn’t who she appears to be, and the odds aren’t great that she is going to live to see another breakfast.

Revisado: 11-07-19
I have to admit to being slightly biased at this point as I’ve read all the books so far (and love them) and wait impatiently for the release of each audiobook. The stories are interesting and engaging and the characters are wonderful! This book introduces new characters and the new setting of New York which I was somewhat hesitant about since I have grown to love the characters in the Dublin Trilogy, but I needn’t have worried. Trust in Mr. McDonnell’s considerable talent as a writer and Morgan C. Jones wonderful voice work to draw you in and provide a truly enjoyable experience. Loved it!

Revisado: 08-06-19
This 4th book in the Spells and Caramels series will not disappoint. The story sees Imogen and crew traveling to the Earth Kingdom for Bruma (think Christmas) and encountering mystery and mayhem in addition to some big reveals regarding Imogen’s past. The audiobook is excellent, even after having read the Kindle version. Great stuff!

Another great entry in the “Dublin Series”. I’ve read them all and am still on the edge of my seat awaiting the next audiobook release. Morgan C, Jones does such a great job of voicing all the characters, but especially Bunny, that the audiobook experience is just as delightful even when you know what’s coming. I highly recommend all Mr. McDonnell’s books and this is no exception. Definitely want to have read/listened to Angels in the Moonlight first.

Revisado: 08-03-19
After listening to the audiobook of Mermaid Fins, Winds and Rolling Pins, I like it even better. I’ve read the series on Kindle and I’m very much enjoying the audio versions. This third entry in the Spells and Caramels series continues the story of Imogen and friends and moves them to the water kingdom, introducing mermaids, pirates and sea monsters as well as giving more clues to Imogen’s background. Hannah Somerville does a great job on the narration and really brings the characters to life. On to book 4!

An Excellent Story Well Told!
Revisado: 03-03-19
This might just be my favorite book of the "Dublin Trilogy" although it would be very difficult to pick one. I'm hooked! As is noted in the title, it is a prequel to the trilogy and chronologically the events occur long before "A Man With One of Those Faces". I've recommended Caimh McDonnell to several family members recently and they are similarly hooked. He's a great writer, with a wonderful sense of humor and Morgan C. Jones does a fantastic job of the narration. I've read all the books and intend to listen to them all as audiobooks. Really fun and entertaining. You won't be disappointed.

Revisado: 03-03-19
I've read all the books in this series and really enjoyed them, but was especially looking forward to the audiobook versions, as that is by far my favorite way to enjoy books these days. Hannah Somerville does a fantastic job on the narration, giving the different characters just the right "voices" and accents and really brings the story to life. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next one, and all the others! Get this! You won't be disappointed.

An excellent, complex and well written story with engaging characters that you care about and a generous amount of humor to keep it fun, performed by the phenomenal Morgan C Jones who does a wonderful job on the voices and accents. Caimh McDonnell is an excellent writer and it’s well worth reading all of his books. I’m envious of the lucky ones who are just discovering his works for the first time. Enjoy!
