The author uses both his on the ground travels, interviews and textbook history to compose a very comprehensible saga. I did get a little lost in the more modern events, will need to revisit. Came away with a much deeper body of knowledge of Basque history.

History was thin and predictable

Sorry to say I found the narrator with an annoying, ‘valley girl’ intonation. The history is well-trod and predictable- calling out American slavery but no mention when other countries, such as the Arab world, they are untouched, benign, innocent bystanders I guess. She seems to think we will be surprised at the corruption of the sugar and tobacco industries - but never points the finger of doubt at the pharmaceutical industries, corrupt government oversite, etc. she’s a young author and I wish her well, (please up your game tho)

I didn’t know much about Margaret so I thought I’d get this to learn more…and boy did I…what an awful person. I suffered through this but finally had to bail towards the end. Annoying, cloying, self centered, thinks she’s clever but…you probably get the picture. With so much good stuff out there don’t waste your precious time on this empty vessel. Well-produced and nice graphics though.
