The writing style was difficult to listen to. Every sentence had "she", "her" or ,"they." It distracted from the storyline.

Story was too complex to follow easily with so many characters. And you really need to recall the situation from the prior novel to make sense of it. Would be easier in print to track the names.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
There is some character dialogue that is unbelievable. FBI agents who say things too basic for FBI discussion. Sounded naive.
What could DiAnn Mills have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

What does Laurel Merlington bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?
She did a really good job with multiple voices and english and hispanic voicing. There was a character who was supposed to have a lisp that didn't sound like he had one, and its possible that Houston residents would have more drawl than she put in the characters, but that wasn't a problem. I had more issue with what was written than how it was delivered.
Did The Chase inspire you to do anything?
I won't be purchasing another of this author's books if they are all going to be tied to solutions from Jesus and return to faith for the faithless.

Slow starter, hard to follow

The book starts very slowly. The main event doesn't happen until 1 hour and 20 minutes into a 6 hour book. Also, the language and setting are highly targeted towards a reader/listener familiar with British academia. I found it very difficult to get involved and rather boring. It is probably much more interesting for someone familiar with the setting. I'd get my money back if I thought I could.
