Tough to listen to
Revisado: 03-04-19
The writing style was difficult to listen to. Every sentence had "she", "her" or ,"they." It distracted from the storyline.

Too complex for audio
Revisado: 05-03-15
Story was too complex to follow easily with so many characters. And you really need to recall the situation from the prior novel to make sense of it. Would be easier in print to track the names.

Historia
Gavin Greene is a hopeless romantic. He’s also a professional one: He writes the wedding column for a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper, covering spectacular parties from coast to coast. But there’s a thin line between being a hotshot reporter on assignment and being a single guy alone on a Saturday night at someone else’s wedding. Everything changes on New Year’s Eve when Gavin meets Melinda, a travel writer with enchanting dimples....

Historia
To the FBI, it's a cold case. To Kariss Walker, it's a hot idea that could either reshape or ruin her writing career. And it's a burning mission to revisit an event she can never forget. Five years ago, an unidentified little girl was found starved to death in the woods behind a Houston apartment complex. A TV news anchor at the time, Kariss reported on the terrifying case. Today, as a New York Times best-selling author, Kariss intends to turn the unsolved mystery into a suspense novel.

Not as good as I hoped
Revisado: 03-25-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
There is some character dialogue that is unbelievable. FBI agents who say things too basic for FBI discussion. Sounded naive.
What could DiAnn Mills have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
The book ends heavily steeped in
What does Laurel Merlington bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?
She did a really good job with multiple voices and english and hispanic voicing. There was a character who was supposed to have a lisp that didn't sound like he had one, and its possible that Houston residents would have more drawl than she put in the characters, but that wasn't a problem. I had more issue with what was written than how it was delivered.
Did The Chase inspire you to do anything?
I won't be purchasing another of this author's books if they are all going to be tied to solutions from Jesus and return to faith for the faithless.

Historia
Detective Inspector C.D. Sloan knew there would be trouble when he was called in to the student sit-in at Calleshire University. The dons were nervous, the students excited - a clash of some kind seemed inevitable. But what did happen was totally unexpected. First was a most peculiar theft from a dormitory room and then the discovery of a man found clutching at one of the columns of the Tarsus cloister - bleeding slowly to death and able with his parting breath only to utter one enigmatic phrase.

Slow and very British
Revisado: 01-16-11
The book starts very slowly. The main event doesn't happen until 1 hour and 20 minutes into a 6 hour book. Also, the language and setting are highly targeted towards a reader/listener familiar with British academia. I found it very difficult to get involved and rather boring. It is probably much more interesting for someone familiar with the setting. I'd get my money back if I thought I could.
