Historia
Two astronomers have detected a strange, pulsing signal from deep space. Within hours, the US government goes into lockdown, restricting airspace and scrubbing scientific data. Was the signal an intercepted communication revealing alarming plans for an enemy’s military strike? Or has humanity at long last found proof of extraterrestrial life?

Fantastic soundscape and dialog, with a great story

I listened to this over a couple of days as I walked my dogs. It was easy to hear without being bland and the story was exciting without being extreme. I really enjoyed it and recommend it highly.

Historia
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Exquisite production values, a must listen

Exquisite production values add a fantastic "Audible" experience to an already timely production of one of the most important anti- totalitarianism works of the 20th century. Be warned, the ending is not hopeful.

Historia
What if you could travel back in time 100 years and right the wrongs of the past—would you take the risk? “Sundown: A Time Travel Society Mystery” is a wildly imaginative podcast from Michael Dante DiMartino, the co-creator of the animated classics “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Legend of Korra.” “Sundown” explores the story of a group of teens who go back into the past and uncover secrets about themselves, their families, their town—and America. 17-year-old Darius Hightower (played by Emmy-nominated actor Asante Blackk of “When They See Us”) is just about the only Black person in his small New England town of Norhaven. Adopted by a wealthy white family when he was a baby, Darius has learned to keep his head down and not challenge his family or its history. But when the outspoken Sanaa Starr (played by NAACP Image Award-winner Storm Reid of “Euphoria”) transfers to his high school and starts asking questions, Darius re-examines the truth about his ancestors’ involvement in the town’s most infamous murder. A time capsule from 1920 may hold some clues, but when Norhaven’s most powerful conspire to destroy its contents, it’s up to Darius, Sanaa, and their friends (including “Reservation Dogs” star Devery Jacobs) to investigate what really happened. After a strange incident sends them back 100 years to the scene of the crime, their fact-finding mission becomes life-or-death. Forced to confront their town’s prejudiced past, the teens race against time in order save an innocent man’s life and clear his name. “Sundown” is a sci-fi mystery adventure like you’ve never heard before.

Excellent story with great historical context
Revisado: 09-14-22
I really enjoyed this production. It had excellent performances, great accuracy in it's historical context and believable atmosphere in the production values. I appreciated the different voices of the actors, and felt like this is as good a production as many of my favorite BBC radio dramas. I liked the twists and turns and the way different characters were centered in their experience. Thanks Audible. This was an entertaining, gripping and somewhat surprising find🤗.

So much appreciation for this illuminating episode
Revisado: 02-13-22
In the book "New Kid" Jordan Banks learns that his written experience of his life should be kept in the safety of his journal because learning about his life experiences will be difficult for his teacher. He knows that what has happened to him will not matter as much as how it makes her feel to learn about it. This is a skillful episode that offers the opportunity for people to experience empathy and learn about the "other".

Historia
If we were as tiny as ants to another being, what would they make of our philosophies? The great satirist Voltaire imagines alien visitors who have opinions. Bedtime stories are narrated by the world's most celebrated voices and written with no beginning, middle, or end so you don't stay up to hear what happens next. They're interesting enough to give your mind something to focus on, but delivered in a way that encourages sleep.

Historia
As ever, Charles Paris is his own worst enemy, a louche lush who can resist anything except temptation, especially in the form of women and alcohol. His intentions may be good, but somehow the results always go wrong. What makes Charles different from other seedy, middle-aged, down-at-heel actors is that he can't avoid finding himself near trouble, that trouble being murder. He may be an amateur sleuth, but he's patently no Poirot.

Jonathan, thank you for sharing yourself with the world in such a warm, open and vulnerable way. I admire your courage, vulnerability and the huge emotional growth you have experienced. Reading about your life after seeing you on Queer Eye is an inspiration. I heartily recommend this book , especially for anyone who really is serious about putting down their shame and walking away, for good. I am sure that Brene Brown is very proud of you.
