Historia
Easter isn’t exactly the hottest of holidays—nevertheless, it took a giant bunny costume for Anna Clark to finally notice the perfect guy who’s been right under her nose this whole time. After a playful encounter at Lake Geneva’s annual Easter egg hunt, Anna finds herself flirting with a mysterious man in a bunny mask at High Five, the local bar in her Wisconsin hometown. But when she discovers the bunny is none other than Chad Braun—a regular at the restaurant where she works—everything changes.

Historia
What's that saying? When life hands you lemons... What if I don't want to make lemonade? What if I want to pummel them into non-existence? Anything is better than admitting how desperately I want a taste of that sweet lemonade. That's exactly how I felt when my college assignment threw me in the direction of Miller Cain. My body screams for him while my brain warns me to run for the hills. He's the captain of the ice hockey team with a cocky reputation. He's a sweet talker and the bad boy promising me the ride of my life.

Easy listen.
Revisado: 04-01-25
I enjoyed the story. It was a fun easy listen. It is your standard college hockey romance with nothing too surprising happening.

Historia
I sold my soul for a hamburger. And I have no regrets. When a girl is trapped indefinitely in an elevator with a smoking hot burger and an empty stomach, even the strongest of women will crumble. The story goes like this: Bradley Hamilton, former professional hockey player and the most frustrating human alive, offered me half of his hamburger in exchange for a date. I took him up on the offer - while under duress - and now I'm stuck with the consequences. Specifically, the scorching kiss that has me drooling for more.

Miscommunication overload
Revisado: 01-01-25
You have to like the miscommunication trope to get through this book. I dnfed at 38% when they were in probably their 6th argument (honestly I lost count). I am not sure how old they are supposed to be, but obviously too young to be in an adult relationship.
The narrators are fine.

Historia
I’m just a girl. And it turns out, I’m Hercules. I’m struggling to survive in a Titan infested world where Spartans, immortals from twelve royal families who have god-like powers and obscene wealth, rule over all. A shy-stammering foster child with nothing, I keep my head down, cover my scars, and focus on excelling in school. At least, I try to. Then it happens.

Amazing story
Revisado: 12-05-24
I have previously read this book, so am not surprised I loved the audiobook. Alexis is a strong female character with some of the most realistic internal dialogue I’ve ever heard. Warning if you don’t appreciate self deprecating, nihilistic humor this may not be the book for you. I however love those things.
My only complaint is the recording was difficult to listen to in some arts on my car speakers. This was less of an issue on other speakers, but was still there. This was specific to sections where Meg Sylvan was narrating the male voices. How she lowered her voice was difficult to understand. That said, when she was narrating Alexis I loved the performance. This would be easily addressed in book 2 by doing a duet narration. I hope the author considers this going forward.

The narrators and unique setting
Revisado: 08-28-24
The book is set in Portugal, which was nice to have a unique location for the book. Daniella was a yard too dumb to live, but I had already figured out how the twist by that point so I understood her motivations. Antonio is rather dense to have not figured it out and I suspect book two is a large amount of him groveling to make up for his poor behavior. I will say that I did like Antonio’s bedroom talk and that was definitely a highlight of the book for me.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

How is she going to get out of this?
Revisado: 08-09-18
That is what I kept asking myself through much of this book. I originally purchased it for my husband to listen to during a long flight, but he loved it so much, he convinced me to give it a listen. I found myself getting to parts where I knew Jas was in trouble, but I didn't want to listen on because I couldn't possible see a way for her to get out of things. I would force myself to push through the story while holding my breath in anticipation of a miracle that would save her. And every time, through either luck, the love of her friends and family or simply her on brilliance, Jas finds a way through each trial.
Rosario Dawson does a perfect job reading as she brings just the right amount of sarcasm, anger and hope to the character as she finds a way to survive and thrive in a world with limited choices for her.
