Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

Truly excellent
Revisado: 09-07-20
Both the narrative performance and story are excellent. Mary Robinette Kowal is a master performer and every character voice is nuanced and distinctive. The novel itself is an emotional rollercoaster in the best way.

Eh it was fine
Revisado: 02-11-20
This book is unbalanced and spends too long in the past and not enough time in the present. As the story is told from Tate's perspective it's understandable to get a less clear picture of who Sam is, however Sam never really felt like a fully fleshed out person, but instead a collection of plot points and reasons for the heroines angst. This book feels less like the love story of Sam and Tate and more like Tate's journey. The present day romance moves too quickly and the ending does not feel earned. Still as a light angsty beach read it works.

A great continuation of the series
Revisado: 04-18-19
This book was alot of fun and the narration was superb. Like most of Scalzi's work that I've read there is humor as well as heart in his stories and I appreciate that.

Historia
I've hated Rachel Dawson since I was seven years old. My next-door neighbor and number-one sworn enemy - she's the reason why almost all of our childhood fights ended with me setting something of hers on fire. (Or, vice versa.) She snitched on me when I broke curfew. I snitched on her when she lied about having a boyfriend. We went back and forth like this throughout high school, both vowing to never talk to each other again when we went off to college. But that was until she showed up at my apartment during my senior year and asked me for a temporary place to stay.

A little contrived, but fun
Revisado: 02-08-19
Rachel's lack of outside friendships and naivete were grating, and felt contrived, and the letter writing while cute took a significant suspension of disbelief. Still a fun breezy book with good narration.

Historia
Cady Briggs is very useful to Mack Easton - her expertise in art and antiques helps his shadowy, low-profile company, Lost and Found, find missing treasures for high-paying clients. But as Cady's beloved Aunt Vesta warns her, being useful to a client is one thing - being used is another. But now, Cady must turn to this man she isn't sure she can trust. And instead of tracking down missing masterpieces, they'll be hunting down a killer.

Not a fan of the narrator or the story.
Revisado: 02-22-18
The author while trying to give the reader exposition about the art world undermines the so-called expertise of her heroine. Also the heroine, who is supposed to be in her early to mid thirties reads as too naive and a little bit stupid, which is contrasted by the hero knowing everything and always being right. The depiction of a panic disorder rang as disingenuous and at times felt tacked on to the heroine tomake her seem more interesting.
As to the performance, the performance values, i.e. echo effects when characters are on the phone or speaking through a microphone, these were good. However, the voice for the heroine was too young contrasted with her too old sounding cousin. All of the young adults in this book are voiced in an annoying too young/too stupid manner, which made it hard to sympathize with them.
