I disliked all the collateral commentary that had nothing to do with the race and which seemed like gratuitous filler. For example. Ralph Nader, modern gas v electric, commentary about environmental consequences… all of interest but not within this story which would have flowed better and been more interesting without them.

Fawlty Towers Re-interpretation of West Wing

If there wasn’t a nuke button in the hands of the subject, Fire & Fury would be hilarious. It won’t take you long to get through this audiobook. It is well written and well read. A Twainish jaundiced eye and sarcastic wit pervade this blistering account of what may be the dumbest presidency in history. However, it is not without occasional objective introspection. When asked to explain what he meant by the term, “white trash”, Trump purportedly responded, “people like me but with a lot less money.” There are many similar nuggets throughout this audiobook.

Timely & Terrific

Harlots Ghost has been gathering dust on my bookshelf for decades. It's girth combined with slow reading and distractions are my excuses.
This audiobook cut through these pretexts and delivered both a terrific work that otherwise was inaccessible to me, and a needed reminder of how great Mailer was at his art. Highly recommended! It also explains the most current variety of political madness.

Only history of US you need

If you can only absorb one book to explain everything about US political history, make it "Hamilton." Phenomenal research, presentation,
relevance to every current challenge (only the names have changed). And if you are worried that the 2016 election represents the bottom of the barrel, listen to this and be assured that it was not even close. One of the best history books I have encountered. Riveting!

Conjures Ishmael Reed (mentioned in it) in a completely unique and creative work that is masterfully and hilariously narrated. Still, it's hard to believe it was published.

What did I just experience?

If Jerusalem were a recipe, the ingredients thrust into a cement mixer dimensioned blender would include the following ingredients (devoid of proportion): Breughal, Escher, Pink Floyd interpreting Sgt. Pepper's, Murikami, Einstein on hallucinogenics, Harry Potter & James Joyce grounds, all flame broiled until producing a continuous multi-dimensional yet compressed potion of all 9 circles of Dante's hell.
Amazing writing and narration. Only Tristram Shandy baffles me more. Not sure what I listened to, but glad I experienced it!

Ok, it's only one word but . . .

Pretty good story, pretty well delivered. But: admittedly it is only one word, although it pops up three or four times. And each time it sticks out more annoyingly. A "careering" automobile that any proofer should have recognized as, "careening", and more significantly should have been caught by the reader. Nit pickery perhaps, but it was sloppy. That aside it was entertaining but not spectacular.
