Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

Simply Amazing!
Revisado: 05-31-11
Everyone talked about this book and I purchased it over a year ago. I wasn't really convinced to listen to it (too long) until now. I fell in love with it.
The southern accents had me transported the the time and place in which it took place and I felt a special connection to the characters.
The array of characters made it 100% more interesting then expected and I made it easier to understand the different positions explained through out the book.
This is not my usual genre but it was definitely worth the time.

Historia
No two are exactly alike, but they are as inevitable and as prevalent as the common cold. They are "dates from hell", those traumatic dates that are too terrible to believe, yet too vivid ever to forget. The only thing better than recounting details of your own hellish date is hearing about other people's disaster dates. Here are true-life accounts of dates gone horribly wrong.

Funny but not hilarious
Revisado: 05-31-11
I laughed a few times here and there.
Some other stories seemed out there and totally fake. I expected it to be funnier.
Overall it was easy to listen too and good for relaxing and releasing stress.

Historia
In Made to Stick, Chip and Dan Heath reveal the anatomy of ideas that stick and explain ways to make ideas stickier, such as applying the human scale principle, using the Velcro Theory of Memory, and creating curiosity gaps. Along the way, we discover that sticky messages of all kinds—from the infamous “kidney theft ring” hoax to a coach’s lessons on sportsmanship to a vision for a new product at Sony—draw their power from the same six traits.

Found some parts of the book extremely boring and hard to get through. The examples used where sticky and the main idea of the book came across very clear.

Historia
Why is it so hard to make lasting changes in our companies, in our communities, and in our own lives? The primary obstacle is a conflict that's built into our brains, say Chip and Dan Heath, authors of the critically acclaimed best seller Made to Stick. Psychologists have discovered that our minds are ruled by two different systems - the rational mind and the emotional mind - that compete for control. The rational mind wants a great beach body; the emotional mind wants that Oreo cookie.

Insightful
Revisado: 05-31-11
I had to read it for work and ended up saving quotes of the books that can easily be applied on a daily basis. I enjoyed it a lot more that Made to Stick and found it easy to understand. The examples given were great and a lot of the suggestions can be applied without making major or drastic changes.

Historia
Four different women. One common shoe size. And a shared lust for fabulous footwear. In this sparkling novel, the wife of a controlling politician, a debt-ridden eBay addict, an agoraphobic phone sex operator, and a nanny for the family from hell (who barely knows a sole from a heel but who will do anything to get out of the house) meet Tuesday nights to trade shoes, and, in the process, form friendships that will help them each triumph over their problems—from secret pasts to blackmail, bankruptcy, and dating.

So far I feel like it's just a shoe version of Confessions of a Shopaholic. I will continue to listen to it and update if anything improves.

Not what I expected.
I thought it would be full of advice and tips on how to improve self-awareness. So far it's just a woman critizing and belittling other women.
