Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Caffeine- a PBS special
Revisado: 04-22-20
I liked the story and the narrator but found myself drifting at times. It might have played better as a PBS special so I could see the story unfold instead of listening in the car. Recommended, Interesting, good for the curious.

Historia
Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

Iger- just what Disney needed
Revisado: 04-22-20
I loved this book and became enamored with Bob Iger. Yes, he can get a little egotistical but shouldn't you have some swagger if you run Disney? Highly recommended - Timely- Interesting - Wisdom Giving.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

A book of solutions
Revisado: 01-11-20
We look for solutions to all of these cultural problems and this book seems to have found them. Amazing research. A well told story in an argument you don’t realize is happening. Top 3 book ever for me.

Historia
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

An unwinding string of a man called Ove
Revisado: 03-25-19
Having aging parents I can relate with the story. Ove is starting to disconnect from the world around us, it moves too fast for him. Change is difficult as it is for older adults but you could definitely see the internal struggles of him coming to adapt to the stresses of life. A well written book with a twist interns that were on expected. I find myself laughing and crying. Highly recommended.

Revisado: 12-04-17
Clay does a great job with this book. Humorous and entertaining and wise. I am in my 40s and wished I would’ve had to of spoken. I pray that this book shows wisdom into those who are younger and starting earlier. I see my career advancement because of this book thank you Clay for that.

Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

I liked the book and the characters. The story twisted a bit and ended not where I thought. There was some simple come along dialogue but over all good book. Great narrator.

Not a fan- overdriven macho
Revisado: 03-04-15
I think it's me, not the story. I'm a huge Vince Flynn, Daniel Silva and Lee child fan. I couldn't get into this. The ex military story has been done too often now. I miss Flynn, he died too soon. The characters of child's and silva are so unique. This character is missing unique. I think it's me not the author.

The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
