Historia
With only a guitar, a tatty copy of the Melody Maker, and his template for the perfect band, Andrew Matheson set out in 1971 to make musical history. His band, the Hollywood Brats, were prepunk prophets - uncompromising, ultrathin, wild, untamable, and outrageous. But thrown into the crazy world of the 1970s London music scene, the Brats ultimately fell afoul of the crooks and heavies that ran it and an industry that just wasn't ready for them.

The funniest audiobook I’ve ever ever listened to.
Revisado: 09-13-24
If you like rock ‘n’ roll memoirs, and you listened to the five minute sample of this book and enjoyed it, I highly recommend listening to the whole thing. It’s engaging and funny from beginning to end. I loved it. It’s a crime that Andrew Matheson hasn’t put out any other books - his writing is fucking hilarious and he does a great job narrating it - laughing at the ridiculousness of his own life story…
I could go on but you got the idea –
I recommend it!

This workbook should not be an audio book...
Revisado: 07-22-20
I bought this on Audible and was immediately struck by how useless it would be to me in this form. I wound up buying it in paperback, and cannot imagine how I would have found it helpful at all otherwise. I would like a credit refund for this title.

Disappointed in length of book.
Revisado: 07-22-20
I was not happy with the length of this book and the fact that it was the price of a full title. Not crazy about the narration.

Historia
The narrator is Max Morden, a middle-aged Irishman who, soon after his wife’s death, has gone back to the seaside town where he spent his summer holidays as a child—a retreat from the grief, anger, and numbness of his life without her. But it is also a return to the place where he met the Graces, the well-heeled vacationing family with whom he experienced the strange suddenness of both love and death for the first time.

the narration really didn't work for me.
Revisado: 03-24-20
I tried to get through this, but the narration put me off somehow. Disappointed, as I was really looking forward to this.
