Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

Book is based on stories of hoarders. These stories contain specific and true facts. Then rational explanations for the hoarding behavior are discussed. Mentioned as possible causes of hoarding are trauma, genetics, frontal lobe anomalies.
Excellent to get an understanding of this condition with tips on finding help for it. Highly recommend.

Historia
In 1915, Jean Dartemont heads off to the Great War, an eager conscript. The only thing he fears is missing the action. Soon, however, the vaunted "war to end all wars" seems like a war that will never end: whether mired in the trenches or going over the top, Jean finds himself caught in the midst of an unimaginable, unceasing slaughter. After he is wounded, he returns from the front to discover a world where no one knows or wants to know any of this.

Grim terror of WWI trench warfare
Revisado: 11-02-15
Clive Chafer has an annoying habit of lilting higher his voice at the end of each sentence. In this recording he seems to try correcting this. It is a much better performance than his others because of this effort.

Historia
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

Historia
The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald's portrait of the Jazz Age in all its decadence and excess, is, as editor Maxwell Perkins praised it in 1924, "a wonder". It remains one of the most widely read, translated, admired, imitated, and studied 20th-century works of American fiction.

Magnificent reading by Tim Robbins
Revisado: 06-25-13
Where does The Great Gatsby rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top of all audiobooks. Robbins has mastered the dialects of his characters and translates their intrinsic emotional character into individual voices perfect for a great listen.
What about Tim Robbins’s performance did you like?
His ability to translate a character's inner substance into a voice and his beautiful southern drawl for the two women.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Did not matter but could have listened in one sitting b/c it was so enthralling.
Any additional comments?
Brilliantly read.
