I wish I had my money and time back
Revisado: 12-10-22
I don't expect cozy mysteries to be completely believable but this one strays too far from reality. The zombie scene was particularly ludicrous. Other departures from believability: No quarantine area would ever allow Patricia to come and go freely without protective gear. Doctors treating desperately sick patients would never stop what they're doing to give a passenger updates whenever she wanted them. The entire plot line was pretty ridiculous. Kudos to the narrator for delivering a professional performance of such slapstick material. I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series but they seem to be going downhill.

Having a hard time getting past book #6
Revisado: 06-30-22
I thought that getting 14 books for 1 credit was a deal, but honestly, I regret spending a credit on this series. I read a lot of cozy mysteries and know that, as cozy readers, we often have to suspend logic and accept characters doing/saying things that no rational person would ever do. This series is so much less believable than most that I've read, and the books seem to be getting more ludicrous as the series progresses. In book 6, Megan is chosen to receive a first-class all-expense paid trip to Paris for a baking conference. Suddenly, handsome French men are fawning over her beauty. Famous bakery owners are applauding her knowledge. Megan has a 5-minute conversation with the presenter who is later murdered, and then somehow the victim's brother knows all about Megan because of his sister's regard for her. She mentions she owns a bakery and he immediately decides her bakery would be the right way for his highly successful corporation to start investing in an American company. The police accuse Megan of being a threat to national security (because she left her passport in her hotel room). The solution to the mystery just falls in Megan's lap, without her investigating. The snake scene is beyond ridiculous. The story line isn't remotely credible. I don't think I'll be able to finish this series...so disappointing.

Historia
The holidays have arrived, and nothing is going to steal the joy of Roxanne Bloom’s first Christmas in Honey Springs. The town’s annual Christmas in the Park is underway and includes a Christmas Paw-rade that’ll help the furry residents at Pet Palace get a home for Christmas. It’s not the four-legged creatures that steal the show, it’s the pair of legs sticking out from the Christmas tree lighting ceremony that has all the town talking. The suspects are piling up faster than the falling snow, while a murderer is on the loose.

Story is bad; narration is worse
Revisado: 04-27-22
It's rare that I leave a bad review and even more rare that I don't finish a book that I've purchased, but this book is so bad that I'm stopping in the middle. The narration is painful to listen to...terrible attempt at a Southern accent, strange choices of inflection and emphasis, and many production quality issues. The story itself is all over the place, leaving me confused about how/whether one sentence or scene relates to the next. There are numerous continuity problems, where characters' thoughts or dialog contradict earlier parts of the story. The romantic dialog is so bad it makes me cringe. I like this author's other series and thought the first books in this series were all right, but I won't be buying any more for fear they'll be as bad as this one.

Historia
When private detective Agatha Raisin comes across a severed leg in a roadside hedge, it looks like she is about to become involved in a particularly gruesome murder. Looks, however, can be deceiving, as Agatha discovers when she is employed to investigate a case of industrial espionage at a factory where nothing is quite what it seems. The factory mystery soon turns to murder and a bad-tempered donkey turns Agatha into a national celebrity, before bringing her ridicule and shame.

Historia
Snow is a rarity in Maura Donovan's small village in County Cork, Ireland, so she wasn't sure what to expect when a major snowstorm rolled in around Sullivan's pub. But now she's stranded in a bar full of patrons - and a suspected killer in a long-ago murder. Maura's been in Ireland less than a year and hasn't heard about the decades-old unsolved crime that took place nearby, let alone the infamous suspect, Diane Caldwell.

All talk, no action
Revisado: 05-12-17
I loved the earlier books in this series, but this one was a huge disappointment. It was slow, very repetitive, and the entire story is based on people sitting in a room talking about something that happened 20 years earlier. It was painful to get through.
