Historia
David Spade is best known for his harsh "Hollywood Minute" sketches on SNL, his starring roles in movies like Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt, and his seven-year stint as Dennis Finch on the series Just Shoot Me. Now, with a wit as dry as the weather in his home state of Arizona, the "comic brat extraordinaire" delivers a memoir.

One of the best books this year.
Revisado: 11-04-15
I usually do not buy books that are less than 9 hours. Just don't feel I get my money's worth however, I have always been a David Spade fan so I bought this one. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone. The fact that he narrated himself made this even better. He is a funny guy and I laughed out loud several times.

Historia
Like many physicians, Dr. Terry Wahls focused on treating her patients' ailments with drugs or surgical procedures - until she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2000. Within three years, her back and stomach muscles had weakened to the point where she needed a tilt-recline wheelchair. Conventional medical treatments were failing her, and she feared that she would be bedridden for the rest of her life.

I really liked this book
Revisado: 05-08-14
Would you listen to The Wahls Protocol again? Why?
I have listened to it several times already. There is so much information, you really should listen more than once.
Any additional comments?
I am very impressed with anyone who takes their life in their own hands and does not just resign themselves to their fate. Dr. Wahls miraculous journey from wheelchair to riding bikes is inspiring. I do not have MS but, I do have thyroid disease and it never occurred to me that I could improve my condition. Always thought it was just something I had to live with. I have been doing paleo diet with good results however weight loss has been slow. I will be doing wahls paleo plus starting tomorrow and cannot wait to see how much better I will feel.

What disappointed you about There Goes Gravity?
I dislike the author and her views so much that I could barely make it through the book. If you can get past her longtime smoker's voice, then you have to suffer through her NYC elitist views on the rest of the nation. Everyone outside of New York is ignorant and especially in the case of southern folks, of whom she displays her prejudice by calling everyone from the south a bunch of ignorant, racist toothless hicks. I have seen this behavior so many times from so called enlightened people who show their prejudice views of others that she does not have knowledge of herself. This is the very same behavior she accuses them of having towards civil rights, gay rights, etc. She should get out of NYC and find out that there are good people and not so good people everywhere.
She comes off as and aging groupie to whom she is still enamored with the music world but, only she and the artist's "get it". I learned nothing new about any of the artists she wrote about. In fact, her favorite line is "nobody remembers the incident quite the same way". She says this so many times, it is laughable. I guess she risks damaging her status with them if she would actually tell the truth rather than put this disclaimer on it.
What was most disappointing about Lisa Robinson’s story?
I was also so very tired of her Bush bashing. I thought I was purchasing a book about music and what I got was way too much of her political views, her narrow mindedness and irrational explanations as to why we should overlook the bad behavior of some of the muscians. Most blatant was her reasoning as to why it was ok for Kanye to rush the stage during Taylor Swift's award. It was acceptable and even admirable as long as he felt someone else deserved the award and who cares how it affected the person receiving the award.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lisa Robinson’s performances?
I will never purchase any other book by this "author".

She changed my mind.
Revisado: 05-10-13
Any additional comments?
I went into this book not really knowing much about the story. I had heard bits and pieces in the press while it was going on. I finished the first half of the story feeling she may be guilty. Somewhere along the rest of the book, I think I understood what happened to her and felt she was telling the truth.
I am pretty cynical and for her to change my mind was quite a feat. Parents, take a lesson and do not send your immature young adults over to a foreign country..

Clinton groupie!
Revisado: 05-10-13
Would you try another book from John D. Gartner and/or Stephen Hoye?
no.
Any additional comments?
I thought this book would offer some psychological insights into Clinton. It is so clearly written from a liberal who is mesmerized by Clinton and he is not objective at all. Take for example, he thought Clinton has a halo around his head when he first met him!!!
All during the book he refers to any republicans as evil and he offers armchair diagnoses for Ken Star and the rest of the "evil" republicans.
I don't even think I can finish this book. I bet Hillary herself could have been more objective than this author.

I truly enjoyed this book. It was a fascinating look into a world I know nothing of. It is also very sad to see how human rights are trampled upon in muslim countries. The author states what most people are afraid to say aloud against the religion of islam. Bravo

Revisado: 07-03-11
I have been a fan for a long time however, have watched his recent troubles in the press and wondered what was really happening with him. This book is candid and makes Rick Springfield seem more human with the same problems we all have. The fact that he narrated it himself is a plus and by being truthful despite of any fall out from fans made this a worthwhile read. Highly recommend.

Historia
The son of a classical pianist straight out of the Bronx of old Archie comics, Steven Tyler was born to be a rock star. Weaned on Cole Porter, Nat King Cole, Mick and his beloved Janis Joplin, Tyler began tearing up the streets and the stage as a teenager before finally meeting his "mutant twin" and legendary partner, Joe Perry. In this addictively listenable memoir, Tyler unabashedly recounts the meteoric rise, fall, and rise of Aerosmith over the last three decades and riffs on the music that gives it all meaning.

Do not waste your money or time
Revisado: 05-20-11
I truly disliked this book and I am a Steven Tyler fan. It was disjointed and jumped all over the place. It was difficult to see what he is really like behind all the bravado. Obviously, he is still the oldest living teenager in his mind kind of like Tommy Lee. That and the constant rhyming he does in the book seems childish. I couldn't finish it to the end.
