Historia
In 2022, Lisa Marie Presley asked her daughter to help finally finish her long-gestating memoir. A month later, Lisa Marie was dead, and the world would never know her story in her own words, never know the passionate, joyful, caring, and complicated woman that Riley loved and now grieved. Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, lay in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them.

Before reading/listening: I know this book hasnt come out yet. But i know in my heart it's going to be 5 stars. Lisa marie was always truthful and didn't give a shit what anyone thought. Her death really affected me in a lot of ways. I never cried over a celebrity before. But being a fan of this family for my whole entire life, she felt like family. I have a strange connection to this family, They feel like home to me.
After thoughts: as i sit here after finishing the audiobook. I'm just a mess. I'm in tears because now I see the person instead of being a musician and just the daughter of elvis presley. She wrote on some very hard topics that include elvis' death and funeral, her relationship with her mother. Her drug addiction and the death of her son. And also about her moms ex-boyfriend, who touched her as a teen. Lisa marie had a very hard life. There is no doubt about that. She never properly grieved her fathers death. That is one of the reasons why i feel so related to her. My father also died when i was young, and it will be 19 years this November, so when she goes into detail about that day on August 16th. It takes me bavk to when my father passed, and im not going to lie i bawled my eyes out. I myself suffer from addictions because of my fathers passing. I feel that when daddy girls lose their fathers at a young age, they always have a hard time letting go and grieve, so we find something to depend on. Also, i lost all respect for priscilla. I dont think she ever wanted lisa. And lisa felt that. Why would a mother keep a man that touches her daughter? Was priscilla that desperate to always have a man around. As a mother, she should have chosen her daughter. As a mother myselfi was angered. I was holding my daughter tight, knowing i would have protected her from everything.. closing this up, im so glad that she got to enjoy being a grandmother before passing. Maybe lisa will be at rest now with her dad and son that her book is out there now and now understand her

Historia
Sloane McKinney feels like a background character in her own life. But this summer will be different, because she’s spending it with her childhood best friend, Liam Daniels, in her dream city, Los Angeles. Sure, she’s surprised to find that Liam just happens to have had a Hot Guy glow-up since she last saw him, but so what? A little attraction won’t ruin her plans for their fun—and completely platonic—reunion. What might, however, is that Liam has been roped into working for his producer dad’s new teen reality dating show, Aspen Woods’s Future Leading Lady.
