Excellent police procedural
Revisado: 04-20-25
I am working my way through the entire series. While there is nothing new and exciting about this format, it is well done with interesting story lines, and a nice cast of regular characters. Fast moving it is not, but there are some interesting twists in the mysteries and no bad language or unnecssary violence. I said mysteries as I write this there are no reviews afteer book one, and I like to look ahead, so far so good, I have not been disappointed.

If you are a fan of this series, this story won't disappoint. Gatward is able to keep each book as fresh as the very first edition. The regular cast of characters are there for continuing enjoyment.

Slater and Norman continue to be a fun team to follow. This is a good mystery, even if you figure out the villain, it's an interesting story..

I have enjoyed this series from the beginning, however, the ongoing saga of his missing daughter is getting tiresome. Otherwise, it is a good mystery.

I really like this series
Revisado: 03-23-25
Currently listening to Book three, Forgotten Souls. I enjoyed Forgotten Bones so quickly downloaded Forgotten Lives. Aside from the fact that Aubrey Parsons is awesome, this author has created a cast of a thoroughly interesting investigating team. Frank is a wonderful lead boss and his DI Gerry is truly a breath of fresh air. Her interactions with Frank will have you chuckling from time to time. I love how Wes Markin paints a picture of all the possible suspects. Best of all, he closes with an epilog explaining the outcome of each person. In forgotten lives he actually lets us know what happens long into the future of one person, for which I am glad.

Recently read a review on a facebook British mystery group recommending this author.. I took a chance and I am currently working through the entire series available on Audible. Years ago I read all the 87th Precinct books. This series reminds me of that line of writing. Five stars for entertainment value. Worth a credit.

While this story involves Human Trafficking, it is handled gently and should not trigger anyone. It is fast paced, well plotted, and a terrific ending. Looking forward to book 5. We also get a visit from DI Barton who was promoted.

Historia
A body falls from the sky — landing in the woods by sleepy little Tinton. Detective Dave Slater is halfway to the pub when he gets the call. He's needed out at Haunted Copse, where a dogwalker just stumbled on something terrible. A body among the trees. It looks like the victim fell to her death. Almost like she dropped out of a plane. And that's not all. Amid all the commotion, the dog also dug up a bone. A human bone. Forensics then turn up two more bodies at the same scene. So now Slater and Norman don't just have one murder on their hands. They've got three.

Once again, the team of Norman and Fletcher are successful in solving more than one mystery in good clean writing. Lots of positive vibes coming from Norman and Fletcher continues to be more aware of his negativity. Gives the reader lots to think about. A bonus is great narration and an interesting crime to solve.

Historia
May Morrigan is in her bookshop one morning when she—and everyone else in the shop—receives an anonymous text. It contains a reference to a Shakespeare quotation—and seems to be aimed at the vicar and his partner, Juan. The next morning, one of them is dead. Meanwhile, May’s elderly mother Minty is staying with her, her old friend Fletcher, and her two dogs. To her dismay, Minty is quite preoccupied with death. She also keeps reminiscing about her past in ways that make May wonder what secrets she’s hiding.

Hilarious second edition to this fabulous series
Revisado: 02-23-25
This series has some of the best dialogue I have ever listened to or read. It does not matter if the crimes or the solving of the crimes don't always make sense in a traditional way, this is dark comedy at it's best. May and Fletcher are a fabulous duo. Can never say enough good things about Jonathan Keeble.
