Historia
It is 1940 and William, 12, Edmund, 11, and Anna, nine, aren't terribly upset by the death of the not-so-grandmotherly grandmother who has taken care of them since their parents died. But the children do need a guardian, and in the dark days of World War II London, those are in short supply, especially if they hope to stay together. Could the mass wartime evacuation of children from London to the countryside be the answer?

Excellent story
Revisado: 02-22-25
Such a touching story. You will be glad to listen to this with your children. Many important discussions happened in our home, as they should when listening to a story set during wartime. My children, 11 and 6, both loved this. My 11 year old commented on the excellent narration and I agree that the reader did a wonderful job.

Beautifully Written
Revisado: 10-16-22
We enjoyed this story very much. The author created characters we cared for and left us on the edge of our seats many times as the story progressed. Her descriptions of ancient Egypt were beautiful and compelling. At first we didn't care for how this was read but we got used to the narrator's voice and cadence the more we listened and then enjoyed it.

David Tennant does an amazing job with this series. Our whole family from 3 to 49 loves these books. They are so well written and entertaining. The kids beg for them every time we go on a long drive and listen to them repeatedly.

This is such an entertaining read! So many voices performed with such gusto. My kids (7 and 3) laugh and laugh. They can't get enough and play dragons for days whenever we listen. We want to own the whole series!
