A Remarkable Account
Revisado: 11-30-23
The author’s account of her time in government, in the White House, and in the effort to establish the facts of the January 6 insurrection is fascinating and instructive. Truly, integrity is doing the next right thing. Cassidy Hutchinson has integrity in abundance, and by her doing that right thing our nation has been strengthened.

Historia
Nonna Maria has lived in Ischia, an island in the Gulf of Naples, her entire life. Recognizable by the widow's black she's worn every day for decades, she always has pasta on the stove and espresso in the pot for the neighbors who stop by to ask her advice on life and love. Everyone knows her, and she knows everyone's business. So if something goes wrong, islanders look to her, and not the local carabinieri, to find the solution.

Interesting Story

Interesting characters, esp. Nonna Maria. Intriguing plot set in an exotic locale. I could have wished for more detail about the food! A most enjoyable story.

Historia
Max Tudor has adapted well to his post as vicar of St. Edwold's in the idyllic village of Nether Monkslip. The quiet village seems the perfect home for Max, who has fled a harrowing past as an MI5 agent. But this new-found serenity is quickly shattered when the highly vocal and unpopular president of the Women's Institute turns up dead at the Harvest Fayre. The death looks like an accident, but Max's training as a former agent kicks in, and before long he suspects foul play.

A Delightful Listen
Revisado: 10-11-22
Wicked Autumn is a nicely constructed tale of murder in an English village. The plot is complex enough to keep you from jumping to conclusions and the characters wallow in eccentricities. The primary sleuth, an Anglican priest, is hardly a stuffed shirt but his past non-clerical life fits him for this challenge. I am glad I stumbled on this story.

Music spoils what seems a good story
Revisado: 01-05-22
I have given up on this book. The background music is so loud that it overrides the spoken text. Time and again, especially when the performer whispers or uses a soft tone, the words are drowned out by the (really mediocre) music. I buy an Audible book for a text, not a cheesy synthesized score. If you are thinking of buying this version, consider some other audio version, or a print version, or another book. I would ask for my money back, but apparently that’s not possible.

Historia
A thousand years have passed since a dragon has been seen in the world. Science and technology have replaced magic, which has dwindled until it has become little more than an element of myth and legend. There are those who still have dragon blood flowing through their veins, distant descendants of the mighty creatures of old. These rare humans have the power to cast magic, the power to heal, and the power to craft alchemical weapons capable of starting wars...or ending them.

Good Yarn
Revisado: 06-24-21
These three books were well-written and pleasingly narrated. I did not feel that the plot dragged. The characters were engaging with a mix of conflict and friendship. Altogether, a good read.

A Good Yarn
Revisado: 03-17-18
Legion is an interesting yarn, with lots of tickles for Trek fans. Taylor even makes it clear that he doesn’t want to mix Star Trek and Star Wars images. The choice of a Latin bad guy is unusual. However, a good villain has to connect with the audience at some level, even if he gets his just deserts at the end of the meal. This bad guy seem to have no even slightly redeeming characteristics. All told, a nicely executed story, performed with sardonic humor by voice actor Porter.
