Historia
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

Wacky and worth a good laugh! That should be enough to review a 6 minute long audio book but Audible requires 15 words AND a title. Soooooo there

Historia
How will we live well in a super-networked, information-soaked, yet predictably irrational world? The only way to know is to understand how the way we think is changing. As economist Tyler Cowen boldly shows in Create Your Own Economy, the way we think now is changing more rapidly than it has in a very long time. Not since the Industrial Revolution has a man-made creation - in this case, the World Wide Web - so greatly influenced the way our minds work and our human potential.

Thought there was a mix-up in my download
Revisado: 08-21-10
The only thing I found clear about this book was the description. Based on that, this sounds like a great title from a blogger who seems to know his stuff. Instead I kept hearing this seemingly-pointless droning about autism. I stopped the book several times to make sure I was playing the title I thought I was. What does any of this have to do with the title or the description of this book? I made it though...moving on.

Historia
Americans are a "positive" people—cheerful, optimistic, and upbeat: this is our reputation as well as our self-image. But more than a temperament, being positive, we are told, is the key to success and prosperity. In this utterly original take on the American frame of mind, Barbara Ehrenreich traces the strange career of our sunny outlook from its origins as a marginal nineteenth-century healing technique to its enshrinement as a dominant, almost mandatory, cultural attitude.

Great research
Revisado: 11-03-09
At times when listening to this book I wonder who Barbara Ehrenreich is trying to impress. Some sentences are packed full of impressive-sounding words which would be great for a game of Scrabble but give her tone a lofty and pedantic air.
That being said, I love some of the history uncovered by the book and found it to be a great tempering to the extremism of "positive thinking" I've encountered with some people.

Historia
It is the tenth anniversary since the first publication of Daniel Goleman's groundbreaking bestseller, Emotional Intelligence, which maps the territory where IQ meets EQ, where we apply what we know to how we live. Spending over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, Emotional Intelligence provided the evidence for what many successful people already knew: being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you.

Fascinating and informative
Revisado: 04-03-09
The printed book is very information-dense so I was pleased to see Barrett Whitener was the narrator for this title. He has a crisp speaking manner which makes it easier to absorb this information audibly. Emotional Intelligence is one of the most valuable resources on this subject. If you only have a passing interest in the subject, the Emotional Intelligence QuickBook may be a better title. However, if you want to get down to the core psychology and neurology of Emotional Intelligence, this is the title for you.
