Historia
Arthur Parnassus lives a good life built on the ashes of a bad one. He’s the headmaster of a strange orphanage on a distant and peculiar island, and he hopes to soon be the adoptive father to the six dangerous and magical children who live there. Arthur works hard and loves with his whole heart so none of the children ever feel the neglect and pain that he once felt as an orphan on that very same island so long ago. He is not alone: joining him is the love of his life, Linus Baker, a former caseworker in the Department in Charge of Magical Youth.

Amazing story, funny characters
Revisado: 02-10-25
Amazing story and funny characters. Lots of laughs and tears! I did not however like the way the narrator pretend-cried for what felt like the last 1/5 of the entire book. I get it, it's a beautiful moment, but it sounds rediculous listening to a grown man cry for 20 minutes while reading aloud a beautiful moment. Unfortunate because the story is really, really good.

With the help of a prospective board member and his mysterious philosophy of the Three Ways, Bill starts to see that IT work has more in common with manufacturing plant work than he ever imagined.

Not a "Novel about IT, DevOps" as promised
Revisado: 01-04-24
This is not a "Novel about IT, DevOps" let along a novel about "Helping Your Business Win". It is a novel about what a company, 20 years too late to the party and on its way to the grave, should focus on, in relation to IT processes except wrapped into a story.
I expected a book that would show me, a DevOps engineer, a new perspective of what it is I do for a living, but instead I got a story that left me waiting for that "aha experience" but never delivered.
The audiobook is done well however and the story is OK-ish, so it was possible for me to sit through the entire thing, but I would not have felt like I missed out on anything, had I not listened to it.
I would recommend this book to the inexperienced project manager in IT who is searching for an easy read/listen to get a surface level understanding of how *some* parts of the IT organization works - or should work.
I would never recommend this book to a fellow engineer working in DevOps or IT.

Historia
In keeping with the parable style, Patrick Lencioni begins by telling the fable of a woman who, as CEO of a struggling Silicon Valley firm, took control of a dysfunctional executive committee and helped its members succeed as a team. Story time over, Lencioni offers explicit instructions for overcoming the human behavioral tendencies that he says corrupt teams. Succinct yet sympathetic, this guide will be a boon for those struggling with the inherent difficulties of leading a group.

A fine book but it failed to captivate me
Revisado: 04-21-18
The story was cute and well told, but I would prefer more clear focus on each dysfunction instead. A lot of the time is spent telling an amusing story, and the dysfunctions are then only briefly covered.

Historia
In consequence of a number of stunning catastrophes, Arthur Dent is surprised to find himself living in a hideously miserable cave on prehistoric Earth. However, just as he thinks that things cannot get possibly worse, they suddenly do. He discovers that the Galaxy is not only mind-boggingly big and bewildering but also that most of the things that happen in it are staggeringly unfair.

Of the first three, this one is the least good
Revisado: 03-01-18
The story is not as good as in the first two books. It’s slow, dull and very weird - not in a good way unfortunately. It takes a long time for the book to reach the level the two others are on.

Any additional comments?
If this book was to be mandatory reading in schools, I am sure that the world would be a better, much happier place.
