Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Historia
Shroud of Eternity picks up where Terry Goodkind's New York Times bestseller Death's Mistress left off, promising a thrilling brew of bloodshed, sex, deception, and sorcery. The formidable sorceress Nicci and her companions - the newly powerless Nathan and the youthful Bannon - set out on another quest after driving ruthless Norukai slavers out of Renda Bay. Their mission: restore Nathan's magic and, for Nicci, save the world.

Narrator just ok- still worth a read or a listen
Revisado: 12-11-19
I love this series and after reading the first one with a physical book, I decided to go audio with the others. An avid audio booker - I have become accustomed to top notch narrators who have a vocal range to differentiate characters. I wish Christina had more of a vocal range. It is often difficult to tell male characters apart and she uses her voice volume or pace (inconsistently) to differentiate which can be hard to hear at times. It is almost impossible to just get lost in the story.
She shows promise - I hope to it improves in the books to come!

It grew on me and now I am hooked!
Revisado: 03-17-18
it started out seemingly flat and one-dimensional, but it slowly unfolded into the promise of a tapestry of stories and characters. My least favorite thing is the female characters in the first book are stereotypical fighting over the man and a bit shrill. However, I speed past this dialogue to get to the more interesting parts of the story.

Historia
Wily, charming Kuni Garu, a bandit, and stern, fearless Mata Zyndu, the son of a deposed duke, seem like polar opposites. Yet in the uprising against the emperor, the two quickly become the best of friends after a series of adventures fighting against vast conscripted armies, silk-draped airships, and shapeshifting gods.

meditation and mindfulness one man's journey
Revisado: 05-11-16
It was challenging to get through the first 30 pages or so and as Dan got to the meditation and mindfulness part I'm glad I did. As an experienced meditator of 20-plus years, I found Dan described these concepts and practices in a way that is very understandable and relatable. I don't even try to explain them because they are so foreign to the Western mind including my own when I first began practicing. The first 30 pages or so when I was wondering if I was reading the right book later proved to be important context to Dan's Journey in this practice. Thanks Dan for writing the book! The more people who can embrace these practices the better.

Historia
Martha Gellhorn died in February 1998, just shy of her 90th birthday. Well before her death, she had become a legend. She reported on wars from Spain in the 1930s to Panama in the 1980s, and her travel books have become classics. Her marriage to Ernest Hemingway and affairs with legendary lovers like H. G. Wells, and her relationship with two presidents, Roosevelt and Kennedy, reflect her campaigns against tyranny and deprivation, and her outrage at the corruption and cruelty of modern governments.

Professional Narration
Revisado: 05-02-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend the story in book form not audible. The narrator's voice is very bland. That combined with the fact that Gellhorn is not a sympathetic character/person is not a good match for an audible experience.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Gellhorn's life and accomplishments
How could the performance have been better?
A more dynamic narrator
