Where does The Potato Factory rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Humphrey Bower is a great reader. The story takes awhile but worth it. Really worth it. I "felt" what London was like. Then I felt the reality of what it meant to be a Criminal worthy of transportation. Can't wait for book 2.

What did you like best about this story?

The learned the humanity of people I initially thought of as horrible and worthless.

Which scene was your favorite?

Mary's victory in getting the 'treasure'.

If you could take any character from The Potato Factory out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Bloody Mary - she's got chutzpah!

What made the experience of listening to Cold Mountain the most enjoyable?

the reality of the Civil War is laid bare. will you dare to see?

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Goat Lady - serene, earthy, practical and self sufficient.

What about Charles Frazier’s performance did you like?

Charles Frazier is the ONLY author reading his own writing that I have ever enjoyed. His languidly precise voice is perfect.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I have had trouble turning it off. I listen repeatedly. and AVIDLY

What did you love best about Dead Man's Walk?

I walked the Dead Man's Walk with Call and Gus. Will Patton brings a very good tale to the level of Majesty. I've listened 4 times and get a little more each time. You'll love ALL of the characters - the heroes and the villains. The landscape they trudge through is wide open and wild. Loved it. Still love it. It's a listen again and again. Makes the Lonesome Dove TV series into a poor cousin by comparison.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead Man's Walk?

When the Mexican Commander hands over his gun to Call.... real drama.

What about Will Patton’s performance did you like?

I will listen to Will Patton read the phone book. His sensitivity with accents, and nuance are remarkable. I like him as an actor but LOVE him as a Narrator.

If you could take any character from Dead Man's Walk out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I'd take Gus out for dinner and just listen. Mostly because he'd do all the talking and you would never get a chance to interrupt. But I'd take Call fishing - and count the dozen words he spoke as a library.

Would you consider the audio edition of 50 Psychology Classics to be better than the print version?

Never read the print and would never but in my car? Wow pointed me to tons of further in depth reading AND let me know what I would find in each title.

Would you recommend 50 Psychology Classics to your friends? Why or why not?

Already have. It's a great conversation starter

Which character – as performed by Sean Pratt – was your favorite?

none, no characters. Just the facts and well done.

If you could give 50 Psychology Classics a new subtitle, what would it be?

Remember all that Psych stuff you sort of remember? Well zip thru 50 Psychology Classics and it All comes back with some you didn't know as added spice.

Which character – as performed by Ken Stott – was your favorite?

All the vast array of islanders and all their lovely accents.

Absolutely. I heard it many years ago on cassette and have been unable to find it until now. An old friend has come home.

Any additional comments?

If you want to smile. Listen casually. If you want a belly laugh listen with intent. You can't go wrong either way.
