Historia
It was Alexis de Tocqueville who, when he visited the new republic for the first time, said that America was a unique country when it comes to law. Every great issue eventually comes before the courts. With this in mind, esteemed professor and civil liberties lawyer Alan Dershowitz looks at history through the prism of the trial, which presents a snapshot of what's going on in a particular point in time of the nation's history.

Historia
An engaging mix of cutting edge research and fair-minded analysis, Divided We Fall is an unblinking look at the true dimensions and dangers of the widening ideological gap, and what could happen if we don't take steps toward bridging it. French reveals chilling, plausible scenarios of how the United States could fracture into regions that will not only weaken the country but destabilize the world.

great reality check
Revisado: 09-05-22
A good read regardless of your political party or your association with secular or religious groups. I'm afraid I have to disagree with some of the arguments for federalism, the states have a nasty way of punishing minorities by not allowing their voices to be heard, so it's those minorities that invite the National political voice into the local dialogue. However, agree with most of the theories and concepts discussed.

Historia
As New Orleans recovers from Hurricane Katrina, Detective Sept Savoie recovers from a gunshot wound with the help of her new love Keegan Blanchard. As the city returns to normal, so does the crime rate. Sept’s first case back on the job is a strangely ritualistic killing, which quickly escalates into serial murder. As the bodies start to pile up, the last thing Sept needs is the city’s newest celebrity crime writer, Nicole Voles, poking into the case looking for information for a new bestseller, especially when Nicole appears just as interested in Keegan as she is in murder.

To hetero for my taste.
Revisado: 06-11-22
Uses too many cliches often strung together. Reads like the book was written for male/female roles but then only the chatacter names were changed to two female roles.

Historia
Lauren “Lo” Bowman is in a bit of a pickle. She needs money, like ASAP. She lost her job, the rent is due, and her car needs repairs. Problem is, the inheritance left to her by her old-fashioned Granny has one stipulation before she can collect: She has to be married. Let’s just say suitors (of any gender) are not knocking down her door. And then Cara Simms, her best friend from childhood that she’s recently reconnected with, pours her heart out and confesses that she needs money to pay for grad school. Lo has a completely brilliant idea.

could not get though the 1st two or three chapters
Revisado: 10-13-19
Not worth the time or the money. Like a bad comedian, the delivery of the message is off, so the story is off and the narration is off.

Historia
NSA agent Dr. Emma Thorpe is tasked with putting together an off-the-books team of elite cyber warriors to combat computer hackers who threaten national security. She's given carte blanche to recruit the best of the best. There's only one caveat. The threat won't be resolved by following the rules, so she must find a way to recruit Paxton James, gray hat hacker extraordinaire. But the elusive, sexy-as-sin Paxton is in an Indonesian jail. And she's there because one of Emma's colleagues double-crossed her.

The story line might be good but could not get past the very bad narration. So I really don't know.
